  • I like the little girl carrying the candle in the procession. Our Orthodox churches should have more of that.

  • Ummmm Ya Greek ORthodox church and Roman Catholic church is WAY DIFFERENT TO ME

  • I forgot the Incence, Roman and Eastern have soo much in common. The Apostolic and Nicea Creed, The Mass, The Eucarist, Mary Theotokos,

The saints, The 7 Sacraments, The Apostolic Succession,

  • There is a big difference. 1). the Nicene Creed,2). the Eucharist, the Pope, the View of the Theotokos. In 1054, changes by the west were brought in, but the Eastern Orthodox remained the same doctrine according to the faith of our fathers.

  • when you say changes, its not 100 men sitting a room with cigars that one day said "ok lets change our view on panagia theotoku" no, there is much debate, much discussion. the nincene creed was not made dogma and left to discretion of each church. The mass is that of the western tradition, which has nothing to do with the Holy Fathers. The magi camee and adored the Christ, the same as Catholics adore the eucharist. The Catholic Faith is as Orthodox as any other eastern Church. "You are Peter"

  • They didn't just debate, but actually made changes against the true teachings passed down. They reasoned with the faith and began to practice this new faith and doctrine on their own doing. Some went along with it and some not. I'm staying w/the original teachings as it was the first 1000 years when East and West were united:Eastern Orthodox Christianity. It continues unchanged by the Grace of the Holy Spirit.

  • even the orthodox faith was transformed within the first 1000 years. so dont say nothing changes because in fact it does. one prime example is our liturgy. it went from basel to john...if it was unchanging then we would constantly celebrate st. basel but we dont. and its not that they changed anything, it was the western tradition long before and they accepted as their faith.

  • First of all we as Orthodox Christians still do the St. Basil's Liturgy. We never changed the Dogma's/Doctrine like the West. We remain faithful and true to the original teaching's.

As far as our Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, our Liturgy still recites the creed as it was then. We have not turned Altar tables around facing west, Holy Confession and Holy Communion remains the same AS IT WAS , just to name a few. It was also approved at the Ecumenical counsels in which Christ blessed.

  • im not saying we stopped using St. Basels liturgy but it was replaced as the common liturgy. the creed was actually changed not first by the west but first by the East at Nicea. Confession has changed in that anyone can confess their sins whenever they want were in the beginning confession was only once. To where only adults could be baptised to now adults and infants can be baptised. nothing was AS IT WAS as you say. the Church grew up from the time of the apostles until now&dogma never changed

  • Wrong- St. Paul Baptized an infant/the family of Lydia. The creed had come to fruition all along with the compilation of the Bible and many other things. But the west began to reason and show no proof of their beliefs for example the filoque. The Bible does not back this. St. Mark of Ephesus and many others remained true to the original teachings and remained faithful.

  • I see alot of Catholic Roman Things here.

The Procession, the Chant, The Icons, We are indeed brothers, Catholics and Orthodox
