Fine. You guys want a tutorial? I want 100 thumbs up to this post! I will make a detailed tutorial on how to make your own and melt all kinds of stuff in it...
You know this dosent actoualy meet the definition of a "Force Field" In the strictest sense a force field would be a something that dose more then melt objects that come in contact but it would also provide resistance to any force tring to pass through the field. The best way to actually categorize this is to call it a plasma torch
I own plasma cutters that I use to cut up to 1" thick steel with the swipe of a hand (Or a turn of a steeper motor on the CNC table). I am not to impressed by this.
i tried something like this now that i made a more powerful flyback driver and when i put the metal in the way while holding it with insulated pliers, it gave me a huge shock and my hand hurt like hell for like 10 mins
@Aedazan Apparently my other comment didn't come through. I realized my error soon after I posted this, and I posted another comment that said I took it back. Sorry for the confusion =P
@Aedazan Okay, Youtube definitely has a major problem with its comments. As soon as I submitted that comment, I realized my mistake and posted an immediate correction and apology. A while later I realized it was gone, so I posted another correction, and now that one is gone. Let's try this one more time:
I take back what I said--I know I was wrong, and it was a simple mistake. I am sorry for the confusion. Good job on the vid =)
@derstrom8 I can easily melt any metall with HV arc, even tungsten spiral from light bulbs, it's temperature is higher than any of refractory metal's melting temperature. But not 10K is for sure.
@derstrom8 dude im not a troll i just hate ppl who agrue about shit they know nothing about i dont care if your uneducated because guess what i am 2 but i hate ppl that talk on subjects or agrue about them when they know f-all about them id NEVER agrue about this stuff because honestly i know f-all about it
@KillEveryoneKillPhil I've been doing this for 20 years. I'd be willing to bet that I know 100x more about this than you do, which is exactly why I took back that comment before anyone else commented. There's no need to be insulting in your comments. Being polite gets you much further.
@derstrom8 mate iv'e only be looking at this stuff for a few weeks so either your a bit on the dumb side or your lieing out your arse and mind you this is me being nice im willing to bet you know nothing about this at all and your full of it... you saying you know 100 times more then me only goes to prove that your math skills are as bad as your general knowledge how bout you just delete your embaricing comment... an d mate it would easy reach 10k rocket fueled by plasma 1 million
@derstrom8 also what exactly have you been doing for 20 years that you would look up basic videos on youtube and also make basic errors... geez mate im sure you been doing something for 20 years lol but w.e you are trying to calm is a complete lie and at this moment ill stop being nice to call you a fucking idiot.
@KillEveryoneKillPhil Take it easy. I don't know what your problem is, but there's absolutely no need for it. I've been working with electronics for 20 years, and a large chunk of that has been with high voltages, as in this video. That's why I corrected myself right away. I'll be the first to admit I still make mistakes. You can't honestly tell me that you don't. Now if you really feel so bad about yourself that you think you have to troll youtube comments, go ahead. I truly feel sorry for you.
@derstrom8 ok not im trolling you im just wondering why at the time if your learning about something you only know a little bit about that you would correct it... i mean you dont know so why would you correct it anyways all good thats all i was saying also they are thinking of making a plasma fueled rocked the plasma is control by a magnectic force so it doesnt touch the metal because at 1 million u can imagine that it was make short work of that metal very quick...
@KillEveryoneKillPhil I felt I should correct a mistake I made so as not to confuse anyone. It's a learning thing, and if I realize I made a mistake, I prefer to correct myself rather than leaving an incorrect statement out there. Just a personal preference. Also, now that you mention plasma-fueled rockets, you may be interested in ion thrusters. That's something they already have out there. It's a brilliant idea, really. Anyway, no hard feelings. Sorry this turned into such a big thing.
i like how people try to prove they are smart by explaining whats happening. guess what? most of us already know we just want to watch the awesome glowing purple thing ha
Well, I don't know shit about physics except what I have learned on Science Channel, lol, and I don't care what it is called, I still think it is cool ;)
@TheMtaTeam It's a special case of a state of matter we call gas. Not "the fourth state of matter". Just a special case of gas. There are many special cases of liquids and solids, too. Like superfluids, liquid crystals, metallic glasses or even surface phases, etc.
@Aedazan That was uncalled for. I happen to know a bit more about physics. The only thing I was commenting was your subtle attempt to lure ignorant SF fans and crackpots into clicking the like-button. The broad meaning of a "forcefield" could be a simple sheet of window glass, as basically, it's just forces between charges. But that was not what you wanted. Sorry, but I see what you did there.
@MrMusicalMustache I dont think that I will be making one because if the people who try to make one screw it up they could be killed, tbh I dont want to be sued
@Aedazan make a tutorial, but then say you don't condone anything done and discourage anyone from attempting it. good enough for jackass, great for you
Looks like your "forcefield" doesn't do a very good job of keeping things from penetrating it. So really it's more of a "field", without the Force. :-P

No, a plasma is a state of matter, in theory anything can be a plasma however many compounds break down before they reach that point, still almost all ( if not all ) elements can be turned into plasma.
@Aedazan ahh ok, good to know It's just that i'm a welder and we can't achieve the plasma state with our plasma torch without that gaz it just won't work everything will meld together. has to do with ionizing the gaz and reaching terrible temperatures of like 45000 degrees. I hope i'm not in the error ...it's basics studies that are far behind, lol. Nonetheless your contraption is cool.
And Is it a piece of MüMetal from a hard drive that i see underneat your contration ?
@ronkerjake Bullets are made out of lead while solder is made out of tin and lead. This means that it should work against bullets if implemented on a larger scale.
@Aedazan most bullets have a higher density coating surrounding the lead core, armor piercing and FMJ rounds will have no problem going through plasma shielding. It could reduce their effectiveness as armor piercing rounds by softening its exterior and causing it to flatten on impact. Its cost effectiveness as a viable bullet shield are non existant compared to layering thicker armor onto vehicles/soldiers. It would work well against rockets, however, but i wouldnt want to be surrounded by this.
@Aedazan: "Bullets are made out of lead while solder is made out of tin and lead" And the lead is in there to make the tin melt at lower temperatures.
So the sum of this is that bullets would melt faster?
This is the tin. It melts at about 200 degrees Celsius.

So the sum of this is that bullets would melt faster?

technically, this isn't a "force field" because it doesn't exert a force on the metal, it just melts it.
