They are all mythic in that they are not perfect and slightly exaggerated and slightly primitive. Still God's basic message is watch the cycles, meditate, love, keep your nose clean, etc. Lets not argue about it.

As you mention old texts ,why is it that the dead sea scrolls are not available for the public to see or all those gospels were left out of the various mutations of the bible.

HOW can anyone base his beliefs on a product (scripture) of a time during which people had very low reasoning and understanding ability of the things around them (read earth is flat land floating in water and hanging stars from an inverted bowl of sky)? Haven't we come a long way from 1st century by figuring out the relation of various things and their interactions in nature and space? If we chose to not star-gaze, we would still be believing earth is flat among many other things.

Such stories (about miracles of Gods) merely serve to satisfy people's thirst for answers to many questions (some of which we yet have to know) until someone who looks at things in a different perspective (Copernicus, Galileo, Newton, etc) using contemporary technology and unbiased interpretation of observations, with more profound reasoning, for the rest of the world to see and understand. Let's gain knowledge through EXPERIMENTATION and OBSERVATION but not through irrelevant SCRIPTURES.

Also, @ 3:05, when you're making a point about "perpetual virginity" the audio cuts off, and goes back to their propaganda. I think the point you were making was that Mary was obviously not a "perpetual virgin" because she and Joseph had other children after Jesus.

Dionysus' etymology was that he was the wine god, who made people drunk through his "spirit" which was in wine. Thus, the modern Greek word for alcohol "oinopneuma" derived from the roots "oinos" which means "wine", and "pneuma" which means "spirit." Thus, "the spirit of the wine."

In any case, it is clear that the only way we have parallels between pagan cults and Christianity is if you have this word play, and stretching, and shrinking, and morphing of words.

If Dionysus were "the alpha and omega" why are there no texts where he claims to be the only god that people (or even Greeks specifically) must worship? He never even contends with other gods, because they ancient Greek world view was one of pantheism, and most god were allegorical in nature.

Also, the point of Alpha and Omega, the way I see it, Jesus said He was the Alpha and Omega, because He was the beginning and the end (alpha being the first letter of the greek alphabet, and omega, the last). In this parallel, He is telling us that he is the only God that we must worship.
