FF Xiii was an insult to gamers everywhere. Sure it had good graphics, but this game failed in every other way possible. The classic turn based gamplay simply worked better than the "real time" button mashing. Also the charecter development and party management was so rigid, restrictive, and sometimes so non-existent that I'm not sure this can honestly be considered an RPG. FFXIII is the best example of how gameplay is more important than graphics.
@chanse313 I actually had the chance to play a co-worker's copy of FF13 as well...and I have to wholeheartedly agree with Chanse313. From how it was showcased, it was literally that - buttonmashing the X button. It was extremely irritating - I eventually just gave up. Thank goodness that someone else out there had a similar experience with FF13 like I did.

@potatopac Xilia has not been given a definite release date for America. It hasn't even been 100% confirmed to come to American shores yet. Make sure you buy Tales of Graces f March, 2012 to improve the chances.

@7nana4shi JRPG is, to me, a style of RPG rather than where it was made. JRPG is always either 1) turn based or 2) anime-ish. Westerns are "fake RPGs", where there are tiny stat improvements here and there. and are normally more like hack'n'slash games (like Demon's Souls).
Of course, this is all heavily debated, regardless of the original meaning of the terms ;)
The games aren't bad at all! I love final fantasy, it's hard and time consuming, but I love it!
Just one thing though...For anyone planning on getting white knight chronicles I'm going to warn you that your character you create is basically ignored the whole game.
I swear...during the cutscenes, I just sat in the background with a creepy smile on my face while the little blond dude cried about some freaking princess...-.-

FF VII is a good game, but highly overrated. The best final fantasy is FF VI, in my opinion. I don't know why, but so many people seem to think that FF VII is amazing. There are many RPGs that are better than FF VII. Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Dragon Quest V, FF IV.....
final fantasy XIII was not crap! it was fantastic! i have platinum trophied that game! there was nothing wrong with it really. final fantasy XII was the worst. and III on the DS. the people who say they dont like XIII are the people who havent even gave it a chance and didnt play through it. if you did that you would even say it was an enjoyable decent game. "JS" and if you say you have played it and you dont like it your either, "lying" or "you dont like rpg's"

as for the series, i'd have to say my favorite was FFX, i just liked the fact that you could switch characters in the middle of a battle to suit your needs. Also "Best Story" ever

@Sustrigiel I don't like it much either. it lacks the interaction with npc. those damn statues make up for nuthin. yet it felt more like a FF than 12, which felt more like a Dragon Quest - WKC mash-up. the thing I miss the most is Nubuo Uematsu's great music. next is the awesome characters of previous games (real heroes like Cloud and Squall, chicks like Lulu and Tifa, strange guys like Mahagon and Red XIII....damn I miss them). lastly it's the fighting system, destroying the whole FF-feeling :(

@greenyxi From what i heard, if Graces does well along with Abyss and the Japanese version of Xillia, then Namco will most likely release it overseas.
For me FFX was the best (Definitely had the best story and music).
And it's such a shame that the Ps3 has such a limited amount of rpgs for their console. Some of the games could be really good, but the people who made it are like down-sydrome. I recommend Dragon Age: Origins for people as it's the only good rpg I know for the Ps3

FF VII is a good game, but highly overrated. The best final fantasy is FF VI, in my opinion. I don't know why, but so many people seem to think that FF VII is amazing. There are many RPGs that are better than FF VII. Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Dragon Quest V, FF IV.....

final fantasy XIII was not crap! it was fantastic! i have platinum trophied that game! there was nothing wrong with it really. final fantasy XII was the worst. and III on the DS. the people who say they dont like XIII are the people who havent even gave it a chance and didnt play through it. if you did that you would even say it was an enjoyable decent game. "JS" and if you say you have played it and you dont like it your either, "lying" or "you dont like rpg's"

FF13 was a waste of 70 bucks. i bought the strategy guide and never made past 20 pages cause of how much the game sucked.
The series was good from 3-9 and 10 was different but still ok.
FF12 was dissapointing but i still had fun.
And FF13 was horrible!!!

Sure FF7 was thee badass game of its time,
but that was several years ago, move on.....
FF13 has its ups and downs, but if you quit being a whiny lil schoolgirl,
and play through it, its actually a well done game, and the story did keep me entertained if you actually pay attention to the "Thirteen Days" Cutscenes,
as for the series, i'd have to say my favorite was FFX, i just liked the fact that you could switch characters in the middle of a battle to suit your needs. Also "Best Story" ever

so if you came to this video like i did, hoping to find a game you hadn't beaten,
i'd suggest taking a trip back in time and starting up your old PS2 system to play some of these games, and there are some ps1 games too
1. Star Ocean: Til The End Of Time
2. Any of the "Wild Arms Series" (my favorite was the Wild Arms 3)
3. Final Fantasy X (just has epic replay value)
4. Xenosaga (didn't play it, but from what i heard its good)

@Sustrigiel I don't like it much either. it lacks the interaction with npc. those damn statues make up for nuthin. yet it felt more like a FF than 12, which felt more like a Dragon Quest - WKC mash-up. the thing I miss the most is Nubuo Uematsu's great music. next is the awesome characters of previous games (real heroes like Cloud and Squall, chicks like Lulu and Tifa, strange guys like Mahagon and Red XIII....damn I miss them). lastly it's the fighting system, destroying the whole FF-feeling :(

The only problem with FFXIII was the hype around it..
Expectation was high and many were dissapointed.. as for myself I completed all achievements and after "housewife friendly" hours of gameplay,
I enjoyed the rest of the experience from story to hunts & crafting weapons/accessories :)

For me FFX was the best (Definitely had the best story and music).
And it's such a shame that the Ps3 has such a limited amount of rpgs for their console. Some of the games could be really good, but the people who made it are like down-sydrome. I recommend Dragon Age: Origins for people as it's the only good rpg I know for the Ps3
