  • hi. I love you.

Accent + cool looking fro. /drool

  • You remind me of Posh Spice from the Spice Girls lol I love your hair btw. My hair is too long and heavy for a full afro but I try!

  • jesus christ you're beautiful chick. i'mma try an afro out my damn self cuz of seeing your sexy ass

    -Love Rachel<3

  • holy lord, that is a sexy 'fro

  • can u comb your hair while washing it?

  • Unfortunately, my hair is even kinkier than yours so it breaks even with a wide toothed comb :( ...You're really pretty and I love your afro

  • WOW!, your hair is so beautiful

  • u got a lot of hair...and ur really beautiful

  • Haha it's an Afro

  • You look good with your hair tied back ya know

  • Thank you so much for these videos and beautiful hair

  • I find its better to comb my fro from the ends down to the root :D

  • i found a combing diagram online that said black people should comb their hair:

    in the back-DOWN

on the sides (sideburn area)-FORWARD & DOWN

    the top (crown)-UP

    top-FORWARD

I tried it and i do notice where the hair naturally falls and i have less breakage. i like yur way of combing the ends i'm tryin that tomorrow when i wash next.

  • I'm trusting you! don't steer me wrong!

Are these the methods you've been using for the life of your afro?

  • like i used your guide and my hair is amazing

  • Great videos, you have beautiful hair!

I will definately try the detangle spray! Usually i just detangle when i have shampoo/ conditioner in as, like you i found that water didn't help but it is important not to detangle if hair is too dry.

My mum and grandmother taught me how to do this properly but i have also seen people who do it wrong.

  • british curly yay!

  • your hair is beautiful

  • lol... i love it i mixed too! but my hair is actully curly but when dry it get puffy and everyone calls it curly fro hahaha!! but whats really funny i have more hair than you crazzzzy crzzzy amount, and i dont need to brush it make it that big! its naturally like that!! but i love your hair!!

  • right. . .i love your hair=)

  • I'm a guy, but I remember when I used to have my hair like this..I looked like a broke Maxwell! I cut it off for stupid reasons but I'm growing it back. I miss it.

The afro is so damn strong and defiant looking

  • I love!!! your hair in the last picture how did u get it like that ??

  • i love to watsching at you (yust for the yokes and your lovley hair ((not a crazy way)) )

  • BEAUTIFUL HAIR :)

    wooooop!

  • Thank you

Its vids like this that make me love my hair!!!!

  • im a boy and i have rouble combing my fro

  • omg I love your hair. ♥ beautiful wish I had afro hair...well I'm white so no chance xD

  • Fierce! Afro textured hair is gorgeous!

  • hi i wanted to ask u something, that is, a lot of black people in general wet or dump their hair before combing or detangling their hair.............. won't they damaged their hair doing this? I am so so so ignorant about caring for afro black hair thus why i am asking

    thanks

  • this has to the best looking afro that I seen on youtube..perfect roundness and circumfrence..awesome

  • beautiful hair!!!

women with natural hair r a dying breed.

  • @ebeledi

    I cosign your powerful statement.

  • I love your hair (= sadly I cut mine yesterday because it got hard to manage.

  • aww glad it helped you hun! xx

  • Love afro, why can't more black women have it

  • I love seeing beautiful black women with natural hair like yours.

  • I love you hair! Its so unique and beautiful.

  • I bet you get the "Scary Spice" comment all the time lol

  • afros rules

  • i love ur accent

  • jodie, HAPPY NEW YEAR

keep up the good work girl you truly are an inspriration god bless

  • my hair is similar to yours. try combing it when it's wet instead. you loose less hair, and it goes right through

I only comb it fully through while it's wet and braid it or blow dry sections

    trust>> u'll need less product

  • my hair is like hers also...but its much thicker. i do the same thing you do...when i wash it i comb it out in sections and then blow dryer it in sections

  • Im in love with your hair, it is fantastic

  • Your hair is beautiful <3

  • what do u do with your hair at night when you go to sleep. I'm fourteen and my hair looks just like yours and i wear it just like yours as well. But i can't figure out what to do with it at night. Nothing seems to work.

  • make sure you moisturise it with olive oil daily before you go to bed and detangle it and then tie ALL your hair back in one big braid.

You'll wake up with your hair soft, smooth and with no tangles :)

I have the same hair as her too.

  • I just tie it back and but a satin bonnet over it! Will be sharing all my hair care tips very soon in a video im planning to make xx

  • I am so in love with you. OMG - You are amazing!

  • youre so funny

  • dope fro...ima get a wig like that

  • Let me just say: I love it! U are so pretty and you can get away with anything you do to your hair! Beautiful.

REALLY IMPORTANT QUESTION: I have really curly hair. I'm a mixed puertorican (kind of redundant to say that). I'd looooove to have my hair do that fro. It's not nappy though. So, can I get away with it? Should I go ahead and do whatever the heck I want with my hair?? Or should I not go there? I'm being completely sincere.

Love your personality by the way!

  • Thanks so much! I would need to see what your hair looks like to answer your question, but for now i'd say yes you can get away with it! So long as it's natural, healthy and you have had the ends cut off and it is combed out properly x

  • hi dear, what do you do to your hair during the winter? i have my hair like yours too,but during winter,i wear it in braids or whatever..cuz my hair gets super dry, and the weather makes my skin + hair extra dry.plz advice.xx

  • In the winter i like to use a product called organicrootstimulator olive oil cream! I deep condition it once a week and moisturise it twice a day and steam it so the product is absorbed into the hair shaft and retains moisture

  • Beautiful hair

  • oh and i love your make-up also

  • i love your videos and you are beautiful don't listen to the haters they are so brainwashed into thinking that the only way for anyone to be pretty is to completely change who they are and conform like everybody else but im glad to see that there are women out there like me who refuse to conform to a fake beauty standard and appreciate the true beauty of being ourselves

  • Your afro is so fierce!!! Do your thang girl!

  • i like your afro so much. i didn´t like like my hairs. i wanna try new things and my dude will doing dreadlocks with my hair, but i have to wait so long and my hair is not perfect for that. it´s very hard. you can be very happy about you. believe it pretty girl.

  • Love your eye make-up. Please do a tutorial. And what do you do to define your curls? Parts of my hair is really curly and other parts are just fro. Nothing I have used so far works.

  • please straighten your hair you are too pretty in the face for such nappy hair.

  • You know what its comments like yours that I really do not appreciate or need to see for that matter. I will wear my hair however the hell I like. Who are you to tell me to straighten it. I have done nothing but do the best for my hair and I take pride in caring and looking after my hair. I am not gonna be so stupid to be straightening my hair only to damage it and get weak and split hair from the heat.

  • Do get a life and respect people's personal decisions on how the fuck they decide to have their own hair. I get nothing but positive comments for wearing my hair in an afro and mad attention from the public. It makes me feel unique and different which is far from what I would be if I was to go and straighten it. Afro hair suits me far better than straight hair too, I do what is best for me thank you very much.

  • well said! : ) That comment sounded fuckin racist if U ask me. I have mixed race hair its huge and curly, I always get people saying they love it too.

  • yea i bet! i think we have the best hair!

  • DAM IT i just removed someones comment by accident instead of clicking reply! i do appoligise to whoever that was! ask me again if you see this message, i think you asked me how i got my hair so soft and somthing else i cant remember??!

  • Hey jodie. I started growing my afro since february of this year...and its grown a huge amount!

is there any other way apart from using products to make my afro stand up, becoz I have so much hair its slowly but surely starting to fall down

    thanx!

  • An afro isn't really an afro unless it stands out! So i think the only way to have it the way you want it to cut it down or bit or have it trimmed, then use a holding spray that is kind to the hair like ISOPLUS SPRITZ

  • Well that has helped me but i do have a question How long have you been growing your hair for it to get that long.

  • its hard to say because i have it trimmed every 2 months which takes away some of its length, then it grows back!

  • Yeah because for every strand of hair you loose 2 grow back i think

  • OH MY! WOWEE! You're SO hot! I hope to one day meet a woman like you over here. I love your hair. =)

  • luv u and your hair sistah!!! u also have a great sense of humor, loved your commentary and valuable advice !!!

  • would you recommend 'motions' for small afro hair?

  • Not really but I only say that because alot of motions products contain absoloute crap! Bare with me I will be making a video on the right products for afro hair. I do reccomend motions deep conditioner though as I have used it and my hair was great after

  • but i'm fully black tho so my hair is slightly different to urs, is that still the case?

  • Doesn't matter! If a product has crap ingredients it's not gonna do the hair any good long term no matter what type your hair is

  • oh my goodness, My hair comes out like that too every time I brush it. Very re-assuring!!

  • I love your fro! Keep the vid coming..really good tips! x

  • Jodie you are a doll! How's the modelling going? :)

  • Thanks hun :) It's going kind of crap because I only get part time work here and there, nothing permenant. I'd like to get into acting to be honest but modelling on the side is cool I guess

  • Hey Jodie!!!

I use a big tooth comb too. How often do you wash your hair? I find that I can't handle my hair unless it is clean. So I wash often. I also wanted to ask what Conditioner do you use on your hair?

I love your make up in this video, very pretty.

Keep up the awesome work sweetie and thanks for your tips.

    LovelyJessie

  • Hey Jessie! I wash my hair once a week! Every Sunday to be precise! It's just what works best for my hair and it's much better for afro hair to be washed just once a week to keep it's moisture. I'm going to be doing a video on all the hair products I use after my next video. I own 4 different conditioners!

  • LOL

Sunday is my hair wash day, too! I acutally look forward to it!

  • how do you dry your hair after you wash it? blow dryer or just naturally dry...

  • Let it dry naturally.

  • hey jodie, do you think you could do a makeup tutorial? everytime i try and wear lashes or do "the smokey eye" look i end looking like someone bashed me in the face or get glue in my eye..it's REALLY sad,lol..

anyway, keep it up!!love the vids,

    another mixedgrl &suber

    dreamgirl87

  • Thanks for the comment hun! I wasn't wearing false lashes in this vid but if you want to know how to apply them there are a bunch of vids on youtube showing you how! I kind of just messed around with my eye make up for this vid, I actully think it's quite crap compared to the one I did for my Clinique all about eyes review video. Alot of people are asking for me to do a smokey eye tutorial but I just thought theres so many girls on youtube showing you how and they have beat me to it!

  • your vids are awesome! I'm so glad i subscribed to you, i actually watched this vid before i combed/blew out my afro last night, you totally made me feel pumped for my dinner nite out with my boyfriend, lol.

weird note- this old woman asked to touch my afro..weird, and another guy called me fuzzy, lol. she's a v.j here in australia.

    anyway, i'll stop rambling,lol

    keep it up, your awesome

    lataz!!!!

    dreamgirl87

  • your makeup in this vid is sooo pretty

  • Jodie! What's the make of your comb? Alsooo, have you tried using Aussie detangler? Any good? What was the name of that detangler you used I couldn't really see the bottle... ;__;

  • I'm not sure of the make because I don't have the packaging for it anymore but I got it from an afro cosmetics shop. The detangler is called Doo Gro Triple Strength Anti Breakage Growth Detangler x
