  • Please guys, How much a GTX280 is? (NEW). Is it worth buying one of these today? for how much? I want to buy one. For playing PES 2012, Splinter Cell Conviction, RE 5, Crysis (maybe), Assassin's Creed, etc, games that are a little bit heavy. :)

  • @LiveMotor get a gtx295, its for £130 in the UK

  • Well if u buy a midrange card its gonna last u probably a year after its debut. If u buy the flagship of amd or nvidia its gonna last u as long as it doesnt overheat. But if u wait just a couple of months until prizes drop and third party models arive u are going to get a high prized card which will withstand the test of time in single monitor mode for at least 2 Generations except if u hit it with some ubershit like Crysis ... to this day this game brings the best cards down.

  • 9800GX2 is the winner

  • U guys are just mad ati are good nvidia are good but just wait till open cl. Have it lol

  • it's says 9800GX2 512mb??? dude it's SLI so it should be 1GB ?

  • this game is optimized for NVIDIA CARDS

  • I still use the 9800GX2 and it works great. I can play most games max settings no problem.

  • @massac78THE2nd Me too :D

  • gtx 280 is 10fps+ lead over crappy 4870 and 20fps+ over 9800gtx. however ..

who the fuck would care about price if its for enthusiast that pursuit for extreme performance? average user would definitely buy a fucking cheap ass console instead buy a computer& cheap ati card. this is the different between elite and average garbage.

  • @hanrinch 4870 why its crappy ? its a good card !

  • well it's simply of amd's design is poor compare to nvidia counterpart. 4870's spec was only half of gtx 280 and the only reason why 4870 can keep up the race is because of insanely core clock speed and shader number. that's why i said it's garbage because a good graphic card don't necessary depends on raw clock speed. and i'm pretty sure that even 9800gtx can beat 4870 if it's also at that clock speed.

  • me even i got a nerw graphics card the cpu is freaking slow its s**t

  • lol how stupid HD 4870 was made to kick the Nvidia 9800 GTX ass, and yea he do it ^^ but what for a stupid test ? why you dont use HD 4870 X2 ? he will kick ass 9800 GX2 ;) ATI have the bether and cheaper graphic cards :)

  • is the Nvidia 9800 GTX a good card ? I know its outdated.. but yeah..

  • the 9800GX2 is faster! :)

  • Watch my video about ATI Radeon HD 5850 Gameplay, I show 6 games on maxed settings /watch?v=hIfc2JRhrZ8

  • ati best for gaming

  • gtx 280 and gx2 is more expensive than 4870 and gtx.. so i'd choose between 4870 and gtx: your decision.. I'm going to buy an ati 4870 soon..

  • You fucking retarded shithead, have you pulled these benchmarks from your ass? fuckhead

  • U sir, are friggen rich.

  • so... do u review your GF too next time , or is your GF the PC ?

  • the price range is not the same at this cards, so i say ati wins

  • @matthei1996 No, but what many people saying is that the price for performance better is on ATI

  • GeForce 9800GX2 ROCKS!

  • @joaohen sorry to dissapoint u but i got 2 9800GX2 running in Quad sli, to be honest i can´t tell the difference between singel card and quad sli....

  • what is the 9800GX2 sli?

  • Having both nvidia and ati means good for us. competition = better products

  • I totally agree with clutch1986, if you have the money, go with nVidia because you WILL get better performance. If you can't cough up the dough go with ATI. Both good brands, wish fanboys would stop fighting over it, 2 brands gives us more choice. I sometimes think WW3 will be fought between two companies rather than nations because people keep fighting. It's rediculous.

  • give me one of these cards and I would be happy

  • I got 9800GT and it's fine.

I have posted videos which you guys can view by typing " NFS SHIFT WAQAR AHMED KHATTAK "

See them all and find the results.

  • they should have tried a better ati for this test....like ati 5 series for instance

  • Its clear that Ati graphics are look better picture wise although NVIDIA still a Top and expensive card.

I guess thats why the XBOX 360S(ATI) is cheaper than the PS3(NVIDIA 7900 exclusive and modified). Ok i agree there are other stuff such as blue-ray and etc.

My opinion is If u got money Go for Nvidia but if not that rich and u are willing to as half as much to get twice as more Go for ATI ( its a good deal i guarantee it).

  • With my Nvidia 9500 i got 40 fps at ultra

  • 9800gtx x2 is a good card indeed really powerfull

  • 9800 GTX2 WIN WOW000OO0O0

  • how the fuck is this fair? only 1 ati card vs newest nvidia card at that time and vs nvidia cards in sli? u shit card racist

  • @limpei1 he was comparing the 4870, which had just come out when the video was posted to it's closest nVidia rivals. What's wrong with that?

  • @limpei1 Your fucking stupid the GX2 is older than 4870.

  • @gatler05 so ur fucking smart just to know that? stop being a big fuck for such small thing

  • @limpei1 Bitch look at you, your the one saying this is OHHHH SO NOT FAIR. Shut your whiney bitch ass up

  • @gatler05 why dont u? that comment was so long ago and its just a fucking comment. u nothing to do kid?

  • @limpei1 And your the one still continuing to cry, fucking fagget.

  • @gatler05 then thanks for crying with me

  • @limpei1 Your welcome, now will you please take that fucking dick out of your ass and STFU.

  • @gatler05 take my dick out of ur ass? sure. i would be glad to stick it back again

  • how many gb can i put to hard disk C? limit or unlimited?

  • maxshine! i have a question, I want to buy either the 9800gtx, gts250, or the 4870. which one should i get. also how much ram do i need and where can i get it for cheep. I want to play MW2, BF:BC2, Crysis, and like newer games. Please help

  • @Theowna get a 5770 man DX11 and almost like the 4870 its about 150 to 170$

  • A single gtx 480 beats the 5870 :D

    NEW TECHNOLOGY FTW!

  • @HologramKS yeah, maybe, but ati has the 5970 on its team! Nvidea loses.....

  • @pkmChris Two Gtx 480's Beat the 5970!

    New technology FTW!!!

  • @HologramKS 1 480 is a 1 card it has nearly the same speed as 5970 witch has 2 cards in it amagine what 2 480's can do xD

  • @Nimerbushnaq Lol for real haha ati fails :D

  • @HologramKS XDDDD

  • @HologramKS gtx 480 is perfect but too expensive too much noise and heat 90++++++ in full load even 100C is too too much after 3 years in normal using the card will surely die no way for a chip to stay alive that long at that temp in today's manufacturing process such temp in cpu world are a killing deal.

  • @marianxtreme Nvidia FTW gtx 480 edition FTW! (watercooled)

  • Comment removed

  • @patjeb14 no it does not

  • @Trentonater47 realy? lol

  • @HologramKS well ati 5970 owns it

  • 9800 gtx is the most affordable and the best. east or the west 9800 gtx is the best. my own experience with the card is super

  • wow hes good at this game.

  • all same

  • same for me also..they are the same at that resolution :))

  • lol the same for me

  • Maxishine a question.. i want to buy the 4870... but i don't know if it's worth.. what gpu u advice? under 200€..

i usually play Aion, BF:BC2, Mw2, Crysis.. new gen games.. plz answer

  • buy a 5770, costs only 140-170 euros the most expensive

  • if only cars can go around corners at 200mph in real life :P

  • I watched benchmarks where the HD4870 1gig crushed the GTX280... here the GTX280 wins what else, tomorrow the GTX295 will beat the HD5970 ?! GRID is an ATI game and NVIDIA suck's ass in GRID - Sorry for my bad english, i'm Bulgarian :)

  • U forgot R on 9800GX2 and 9800GTX... you wrote GDD3 :D

  • Woah...................9800GX2 beat GTX 280

  • AMD/ATI better prices / lower power consumption / ATI better for DirectX uses and NVIDIA for OpenGL. I think if M$ launches DirectX 11.1 ATI will own it like 10.1.

  • trampa !!! deberian haber probado con una 4870x2 !!! fuckin test

  • yeahhhh the 9800x2 is a monster. Probably I will buy it

  • 9800GTX getting pwned. :(

  • 9800GX2 is killin the GTX! LMAO! It's proving the highest frames when all the other cards are at 50, its at 70!

  • Regardless of it being ATi or Nvidia they are both great at what they are ment to do

the only time you need to start thinking about upgrading is if your computer runs below 30fps on High settings, not max, just the next one down - Max settings are for people with expensive rigs.

i currently have a 8800GTS 512, it runs next to all games of today on max no problem, crysis is set to gamer and doesn't drop below 30FPS.

far as i'm concerned, 200 and 9000 series are wasted cash for me.

  • dont believe you, actually upload a vid then.

  • Please, compare again with the same specs but with the latest drivers from both NVIDIA and ATI, but with ATi Radeon HD4870 1GB this time!.

  • Great Video ^-^ (5/5)

    (Go!!! ATI ;)

  • thats no fair they only had 1 videocard from ati and like 3 nvidias, they should have included the 4850 also since the 9800gtx was there.

  • I love watchs benchmarks!

  • Nvidia has a bit more performance, but ati has a better price to performance ratio, a $x ati card will offer more performance than a $x nvidia card.

Think like this a $2000 bike doing 125mph(nvidia) vs $1500 bike doing 121mph(ati)

Given a choice, i'll go with ati.

  • nvidia has slower performance... a 5870 single gpu nearly beats the 295 dual gpu, look it up before posting geez

  • Good luck in getting a motorcycle for 2k.

  • @salmam12345khan No salman ATI runs more quickly and it depends on the 1s ur comparing but ATI 4870 definitely beats 9800gtx...

  • @salmam12345khan

and then spend the $500 to overclock it ^^

  • @salmam12345khan

Naah... Ati still has some driver issues.... got 2 5870's now.. and the DX11 problem with tesselation still isnt solved.

Nvidia all the way. $2000 bike doing 125mph(nvidia) that keeps on going 125mph vs Ati $1500 bike(ati) that breaks down.

  • @salmam12345khan then my bike would be faster than yours. :)

also, the $1500 one crashes more often. has "driver" issues. lul, not a jab at you, just at ati.

  • @salmam12345khan

Yesss, talking about drivers maybe...??? Yours bike have 1,9 wheels, mine got 2... :-D

  • @salmam12345khan same thing with intel and amd cpu's except its more like 5 grand for a bike that goes 125 and 1 for a bike that goes 120..

  • @salmam12345khan i wish i could ride my bike that fast

  • lol idiot

  • I love how we're supposed to watch this YouTube compressed version of your video and see the quality differences in high end GPU's.

It'd be like wine tasting by sucking it through a used gym sock. Its all gonna taste like feet after all.

  • You're just supposed to see the Avg FPS, max and min. I don't give a fuck how the game looks like, it's all the same, what I care about is the performance

  • ati looks better but loww frps

  • ATI RULEZZZ....

  • He did this video July 7 2008... the 4890 and 5000+ series weren't out yet...

  • That video is from summer 2008, smartass.

  • dude ^^ this video was posted 7 july 2008...

that means no 4890 and no 5000+ series :P

  • im glad ATi sells powerful cards for so cheap

  • I just bought 1gb XFX hd 4870 and this thing is a beast. Handles anything i throw at max settings. Definitely the best bang for your buck right now.

  • looks the same to me ...

  • try this with teh 4870 1GB version i think the ati fans would be happy

  • 9800 gtx/gx2 is an outdated card but it can still kick any game's butt (except crysis of course) but if you want to buy 9800 gtx, you're better off buying gts 250, it's the exact same card except for the fact that it's been "re-badged" with a different name, clocked slightly higher, and had a die shrink, therefore using less energy and producing less heat besides that, the gts 250 can be found much easier online as of now, along with being priced pretty reasonably lower than the 9800 gtx too :P

  • Actually the 9800gtx+ is still around, this card is the exact same card as the 250gts with a smaller nm process, high clock speed and is reasonable price as well. But you are right, it does not run all games maxed. If you get a chance keep your eye out for the Radeon HD5870. This is the current best single GPU solution and does have a great retail price for a high end gaming card.

  • agreed. i really really want an HD5870.. if not, maybe a 300 series from nvidia, depending on which one is more reasonable. i do like how the 5870 is super fast yet able to use barely any energy on idle though.

  • 300 series coming out I heard will be good, but the only thing I hate about nvidia is if they have the best gaming card then they always charge an arm and a leg for it. Same thing with Intel with their processors. My thing is I always go for the best bang for your buck I can find. I got an Intel q9550 for $170 from Microcenter. If they were not selling it that cheap I would of gone for AMD first. The only reason I like Nvidia is for the Physx and cuda, now ATI has their version of it.

  • i need 100dollars hrlp i m student no more cash for upgrading my rif hel brothers help????? >_>

  • i can get a 9800gx2 at the shop near my house? should i get that, or go for the slightly cheaper or more expensive hd 4870. I have a phenom ii x3 720 BE and 4b 800mhz Ram.

  • Id go for a 4870,decent price/performance ratio

  • Thanks. but i can get a 9800gx2 for like $150 at a shop. The cheapest hd 4870 i can get is like $155 w/ out shipping :S

  • ok well with the 9800GX2 get ready to upgrade your PSU to at lest a 750 watt because it eats power.Little bit better but it chows power.oh and the 4870 which im getting for R1600(South african rands lol since i live in SA)which is roughly $220.its so worth it and it doesnt require as much power as a 9800GX2.

  • hmmm. i guess so. Plus i only have a 600w psu :P

  • GTX 280 the best !!!

  • i got 800sp

  • 9800 GX2 FPS GOOD

  • LoL

    9800GX2 = 59fps

    4870 = 55 fps

average fps but 9800GX2 is DUAL GPU

for me...i will pick 4870 even GTX280 win overall

    =D

  • hd 4870 1gb for ever !!!!!

  • nvidia has the best cards these days. They've been dominating since the 8000 range imo but please go buy ati cards because competition is the driving force of innovation and cheap prices hee.

  • im sorry but I realy do think ATI is better esp with The 4870X2 OWNS all NVIDIA cards.

  • Mmhhh no sorry. GTX 295 beats the 4870X2

Both of those cards are almost uselss, i would pick the 4870

  • Well this i what I believe about FPS. Sorry if you guys don't think it's right, this is what I think is true though after researching it a few day ago. Movies and TV shows are always played at 24FPS. They look smooth because of "motion blur". Motion blur blurs movement on the screen the make the difference between each frame smaller, creating a more fluid effect. Without motion blur, the difference between each frame would be

  • Comment removed

  • But then doing that on CoD4, it won't become blurry, because there isn't motion blur. If you don't believe any of this and think I'm wrong, you could be right. But in case you want to know where I got my info from, type in on Google, "how many frames can the human eye see" and click on the first link at the top. The site should be somethin like

    w-w/w(d0T)100fps(DOTCOm)/how_many_frames_can_the_human_eye_see

  • Yeh thats pretty cool...dont really know or care about FPS though...its just frames per second and nerds are going crazy over it

  • In PC gaming my friend, that's all we care about :)

  • Hahah i know...on my new PC im trying to acheive 15 fps on COD4 with a shitty integrated GMA 3100 lol...im trying loads of drives from intel

  • Comment removed

  • thats entirely wrong. the reason movies are displayed at 30 fps and look fluidly smooth is because each frame is synced and laced. if you looked at one frame of the movie, it would be very blurry. games dont sync the frames because it would take way to much graphics horsepower to generate new frames, thats why 30fps doesnt look very fluid for gaming, you want at least 45. dont get this sync term confused with vsync, thats entirely different.

  • 9800GX2 Win

  • Everyone saying this crap about not being able to tell differences with framerates. Go and play cod4 online with 25fps and you will fail, it will stutter and you will fail and get no kills. Now try playing at 60fps and you will notice a huge difference.

  • nice vid but if the minimum fps is above 25 then theres not really much noticable difference in the cards other than outdoing one another in frames we'll barely notice, lol.

  • I can totally tell from 30fps to 60fsp.. I wouldn' play a game with 25fps.

  • Lol, yeah, i guess it does feel smoother with a high fps, i wouldnt play at 25fps but thats like the lowest it can go before its unplayable, as CustomPC sez anyway

  • i heard the eye can only see 24fps ... thats probably a lie

  • thats what videos are recorded in...

  • Aha so it is true...anyway someones below said he can see the drop from 60fps to 30fps...

  • /epic facepalm

  • was that a facepalm at me...sorry im stupid when it comes to technology...i even managed to install a graphics card an then got a shock from the metal casing 2 times XD...anyway its good that i can buy a graphics card and see that i only need 24+ fps for it to look the smoothest

  • lol no the max for the human eye is 60fps

  • Haha i dont know...i CAN see the dorp from 60fps to 30fps but i dont think its accurate because i think the eye only sees 24fps...thats what a read though not sure *head exploes*

  • lol dude 24fps is for movies games you can tell if it's 30 or 60fps that's all I'm saying. The human eye can see a change from 30-60 60 looks more smooth than 30 :D good day sir.

  • I said that...fuck dude chill out

  • Im not here for an argument i just put up my point and decided to research it to put a stop to this bullshit...

  • I heard the eye can only see in max 29fps.

  • NOO definately not

  • the eye can see more than that,

but its a such little difference,

    because no lag at 30fps

but add some frames between theses, and the animations always get better

  • human eye can see 60fps

  • @Morcridx1

Ok ok, but I play GTA IV with +- 23.82fps and it doesn't lag. For me is smooth running.

    Hugs.

  • Sorry to break the news but you're eyes cant tell the diffrence between 25fps and higher. Fail

  • Are you crazy? I'd never play a game below 30fps.. I can totally notice the dif between 30fps and 60fps.. you fail sir.

  • Hmm I've figured it out! You're the only person in the world who can tell! Amazing i suggest contacting local scientist.

  • Most enthusiasts can tell, I for one can tell and I find it easier when playing at higher framerates.

  • sorry but you fail HARD. you can soooo see the difference from 30fps to 60fps.

  • Lol why do you guys keep replying to me??? Its not an argument here, I mean I can't sit here and argue because you can't argue the what all humans can see. fail on so many levels.

  • got my gtx 280's cheap ordered 9800gx2's and instead they gave me two gtx 280's because thy where out of stock, half price when they came out!

  • yah but techically its frames per second

  • i think Radeon wins but i atso liked 9800gtx

  • no look at gtx 280 ..it also good.. i can see far building from there..

  • Thanks for the comparison.

  • there all good cards it just depends on if u like ATI or Nvidia,

And u can sli the 9800Gtx and it will come close to the price of a GTX 280

Thats what im doing that big just in price is not worth it to me for a few more fraps in performace

  • its not fraps of performance, its fps...

  • yea.. i thought so

  • i CANT DECIDE PPL :/

    250GTS in SLI

    or

    HD4890

    pls somebody tell me..

i will get either of these with the Phenom II 955 CPU

  • The best choise is to build a Dragon platform: Phenom II CPU , 790** Chipset , and HD4*** series !

  • yea that was my idea at first... but i think im just w8sting money coz i dont play hardocre games such as crysis.. the most games i play are wolfenstein ET, Cod 4 and 5 and street fighter 4

  • GTS 250 = 9800GTX+

    HD 4890 = OC'd HD 4870

Two GTS 250's in SLi = slightly better then 9800GX2.

GTS 250 SLi > HD 4890 (depending on if your games support SLi)

  • mm. maybe ill stick with HD4890.. coz some games i play dont support SLI

  • meh dude look at it this way.. every game that doesnt support SLI will run nice on a single 250 GTS as well (because every high end game has SLI support)

  • i wanna try ATI cards... so ill get the HD4890 :) so no more comments pls :)

  • alright, i guess its a good choice as well cuz down the line you will always be able to get a second HD4890 :) alright well good luck with ur new card m8 :)

  • thank you :) and yea.. for me one single GTS 250 isnt that good.. if i had money i would go for the GTX285
