@pianojohn113 great tutorial... i think you teach very well, but when i play this i drop down to a d octave when i play the F# chord...i think it sounds a little better, anyway keep up the great work!
@newman218 Yes, the D in the bass can work, and it sounds just fine like that. I like the tension that the E bass creates, but that's just my own preference.
if anyone wants tips when you are doing the fill ins after you play the chord once, only use the fingers that are doing the fil lins it helps you focus more on them
John, Thank you for making this tutorial. I, along with the other 11,000 people, appreciate all of the hard work you put into making these splendid videos.
John, We like your channel so much. Sub our channel, Jasmine is only 6 still and has had 45 1/2 hour lessons. She Plays Classical and some fun songs. We happened on your helpful channel trying Norwegian wood after learning Yesterday. Anyway we'll stop back from time to time to learn Beatles hits faster.
@pianojohn113 It's really easy to learn. Just a couple of chords and the same pattern repeats throughout the song. It's really fun to play and it sounds great! Your tutorials mean so much to me as I've learned about 20 Beatles' songs. I just hope they'll stay here for good as I constantly need to revise some of the songs. I learn a new one, but loose a bit of the older ones. Anyway, I really appreciate your effort, you should be given a medal or something.
Do you take requests? Because I think Across the Universe would be a splendid tutorial to make. Especially since there's no other tutorials for it. Such a shame really, it's such a beautiful song on piano. And plus, you make it easy to learn. You have excellent tutorials.
John, solely from you as my teacher I went from taking 3 weeks to learn hey jude to mastering norwegian wood in 3 hours. I believe I have said enough. You deserve the nobel prize.
This sounds real good on piano. Repetitive or not - It sounds beautiful. - I didn't pick up by ear as the way you are made it sound. This lesson was very helpful. Those extra notes or chords make it sound 30 times better rather then playing an octave through out the verses.
Glad you liked it, dormanbenton.. I've tried it with just the octaves, but the chords do add a nice full quality to the sound.. All credit should go to John Lennon, though!
i think you sir "pianojohn113" diserve a sub
