For characters would Young Simba (and Young Nala, etc, etc) be counted as the same Simba as later in the film? Because imo they sound completely different. Also for entering would singing a karaoke of one of the songs (e.g. I Just Can't Wait To Be King) count as an 'audition' or would one need to do a voice dub too?

It's counted as the same! You can do a karaoke, it doesn't have to be a voice dub!
