I like a lot of other George Carlin pieces, and I had remembered watching this one when I was teenaged, so I watched it again. At 7:00 he briefly apologizes to the audience for almost saying "newscaster" instead of "quizmaster" (a perfectly understandable mistake) because he wants the timing of his entire act to be perfect even if it wasn't the punchline. George, you were a true professional.

I like a lot of other George Carlin pieces, and I had remembered watching this one when I was teenaged, so I watched it again. I believe that this particular piece was dated and has not stood the test of time. That's just my opinion. Also, I think the practice of defensiveness on YouTube is especially obnoxious. We all look to the dislike button and if we see any dislikes we are immediately shocked and aghast that anyone could dislike our favorite band/comedian/viral video/cute animal.

I love how he totally proves how words are just words -- and we add silly meanings to them. He totally desensitizes people from the meanings of the words, and just treats them for what they are.

Reasons I love Carlin: He has no fear, his material is more often than not timeless, his physical/vocal delivery and timing is so good. At 7:00 he briefly apologizes to the audience for almost saying "newscaster" instead of "quizmaster" (a perfectly understandable mistake) because he wants the timing of his entire act to be perfect even if it wasn't the punchline. George, you were a true professional.
