Taxes are the government's income, and if you play with the percentages you can greatly effect the amount of REVENUE the government has to work with . In some instances a drop in the rate a bit can actually increase revenue through growth, but it's NEVER kept up with GDP, hence the large structural deficits. Even Reagan folks like Alan Greenspan, David Stockman and Bruce Bartlett concede that Supply side economics doesn't work.

To put in a condensed form, the money spent was wasted on 2 poorly planned wars and his policies on banking led directly to the recession. These were things Obama inherited and was forced to fix. In turn, Obama has spent money on bailing out banks(which he had to do, he couldn't just let these big banks fail and cause even further disruption of the economy), money that is still spent overseas on military in the two ongoing wars that were started by bush.........
and the last main thing Obama has spent money on is the new health care system. Like it or not, the health care system in America is a joke and if money is going to be spent, it should be spent domestically and not spent on invading and rebuilding some country on the other side of the Earth. To sum it all up, Obama has spent money and increased the debt by cleaning up the mess Bush accumulated over 8 years and trying to give affordable health care to millions of uninsured Americans.
I hope you can you put your silly agenda aside for a few minutes and understand the distinction between what Bush did in 8 years and what Obama has been doing over the last few months in the infancy of his presidency.

As a conservative, I strongly opposed Bush running up the deficit and Obama is no different. Reagan's case has some differences because he planned to pay off the debt once the economy recovered and the Soviet Union no longer posed a threat, but it was still bad. If no one ever took on debt, there would be no banks in the world so debt is a good thing by itself in moderate amounts once in a while.
Some mortgages are good. They provide a great opportunity to build equity and a good credit rating. The problem is when you get into these teaser rate mortgages and enter without putting more than 10% down. If you have a reasonable mortgage from before the crash, you should try to keep paying it because eventually that house will go up in value.
Also, you should try to get a clause in the agreement which lowers obligations in a market crash.

Our constitution says that we should mind our own business. No nation building or policing of the world. Since Obama's economic policies are like but worse than Bush's there might not be elections by then. The dollar will crash and it will be martial law.

British Pound because of the large budget deficits under the Bush administration that is getting much larger under Obama. Study some history and find out how that has worked out for other countries that tried it like the Wiemar Republic or Argentina. When no one buys debt the debt gets monetized.

But Obama is using the economic policy as Bush. The textbook way to destroy a currency is to run up so much debt that tax revenues can no longer fund the government and service the debt. Borrow money until the inflation it causes makes countries not want to buy it because the money paid back is worth less because of inflation. Monetize the debt by buying your own debt (printing money out of thin air) causes hyperinflation. Works every time it has been tried.

To put in a condensed form, the money spent was wasted on 2 poorly planned wars and his policies on banking led directly to the recession. These were things Obama inherited and was forced to fix. In turn, Obama has spent money on bailing out banks(which he had to do, he couldn't just let these big banks fail and cause even further disruption of the economy), money that is still spent overseas on military in the two ongoing wars that were started by bush.........

Like it or not, the health care system in America is a joke and if money is going to be spent, it should be spent domestically and not spent on invading and rebuilding some country on the other side of the Earth. As a conservative, I strongly opposed Bush running up the deficit and Obama is no different. Reagan's case has some differences because he planned to pay off the debt once the economy recovered and the Soviet Union no longer posed a threat, but it was still bad. If no one ever took on debt, there would be no banks in the world so debt is a good thing by itself in moderate amounts once in a while.

Some mortgages are good. They provide a great opportunity to build equity and a good credit rating. The problem is when you get into these teaser rate mortgages and enter without putting more than 10% down. If you have a reasonable mortgage from before the crash, you should try to keep paying it because eventually that house will go up in value.
Also, you should try to get a clause in the agreement which lowers obligations in a market crash.

These power plants would actually bring a return on investment unlike many of the billions in the "stimulas" bill. People would be working AFTER the project is done and the surrounding areas would benefit from something that is acyually PRODUCING. Then electric cars would be realistic because the price of energy would go down. Obama does have it backwards!

Make a logical case for why I am wrong or stop wasting my time. Our dollar lost half its value against the Euro, hit an all time low against the Canadian dollar and a 28 year low against the
British Pound because of the large budget deficits under the Bush administration that is getting much larger under Obama. Study some history and find out how that has worked out for other countries that tried it like the Wiemar Republic or Argentina. When no one buys debt the debt gets monetized.

While I don't have the numbers to counter your claims on the Euro and the British Pound, I can call bullshit on your claims that the American dollar has hit an all time low against the Canadian dollar.
I live in Canada, Our dollar is worth 86 cents when compared to the American dollar. The Canadian dollar was actually worth more than the American in 2007-2008, but unfortunately you guys got a competent president :(

For most of 2009 our dollar has been pretty mediocre. 85-90 cents compared to an American dollar mostly. Yes, in the past decade the Canadian dollar has staged an awesome comeback and in 2007 was actually worth ten cents more than the American dollar.
But that's hardly Obama's fault. Good ol' Dubya's policies helped make our dollar a powerhouse.

But Obama is using the economic policy as Bush. The textbook way to destroy a currency is to run up so much debt that tax revenues can no longer fund the government and service the debt. Borrow money until the inflation it causes makes countries not want to buy it because the money paid back is worth less because of inflation. Monetize the debt by buying your own debt (printing money out of thin air) causes hyperinflation. Works every time it has been tried.
