Most of those cars have good parts for restorers and some can be fully restored. Only a little bit of those cars look stuffed. I would love to go to an American junkyard one day but i live all the way in Australia. Junkyards with old cars here in Australia are really rare. I like your video.
if i was the owner of this place i would restore each and everyone of those cars one by one and auction them off, it would make people happy, you would make a shit ton of profit and you would have fun doing it
its places like this where i wish i lived in america :( but hopefully get out there 1day and get one and anyways where is this place in leavenworth????
This place is absolutely LOADED with GM vehicles!!!! I would love to go visit the yard and maybe hang out for awhile.... Where exactly is this in Leavenworth?
I want a old beater Station Wagon at 01:44 just put it on a restored new frame with a rebuilt New Motor get all lights too work, with new brake system, tires and leave the out side and the interior and the rusty old rims just the way it is and put tags on it Drive it all over the place :D
Since rich people are so good at proving they do not know what to spend their easily earned money on, someone needs to tell one of them to go rescue all the cars from 1972 back and restore them, you know, as a entrepreneurial exercise!! Good grief... To see a GTO, T E M P E S T, and Le Mans all just sitting there twiddling their proverbial thumbs is more than this *unemployed* man can bear!!
Not to mention a lonely 1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass F85, numerous 64 Chevelle Malibu's, and 50's cars! O Me
I cant believe there's still yards like this ? looks just like something from the 70's I just cant get past all the makes & models un real nice job.. use Megadeth next time
give me all the money in the world, a cassette/record player, and all the eqiupment to repairs those cars, and all the time until i die, oh and somewhere to live
@techiscool1 Thanks for the info,, just looked it up on wikipedia for a history lesson. i think if i was american that would be the car for me. Cheers
people talk about restoring these... most probably have no floors, or have severe frame rot.... sure you could find a few candidates in there, but I'm sure many of them are just some nice looking sheet metal over a flaky iron oxide center.
do not do this. in the video I saw quite a pontiac between 67 and 69 destined to rot. I hate you deeply because honestly I would like one because I'm in love with the car and then are real assets
@1:36 that 1967 buick riviera is in great restoreable shape !!.. i noticed 80% of these vehicles are buick oldsmobile pontiac and cadillac they have the same bolt pattern for the transmission called b.o.p. and share other engine parts whoever bought these cars had a good idea that buick olds pontiac is the better engine over all bigger stroke and parts are very expensive !!!
i think about 60 %of them can be restored and brought back on the road as old boddies with old rebuilt motors n new suspentions and rust repair and these rolling pieces of history and parts will be saved
i honestly have dreams about places like this wen im sleeping , its sad to see places like that but great at same time if i owned them cars id get loads of them bak on the road ....... pure porn
I dont think that Master of Puppets is a good song to these pictures. Fade to Black or Welcome Home (Sanitarium). And i want to say thet it is a shame that this cars ends up like this, im almost in tears when i see it. R.I.P
I want a good amolunt of stuff outta there, particularly the '49 Ford at 0:03 and the Kaiser/Frazers at 0:17 as well as the Ford at 7:39 and the Kaiser at 8:42 (soft spot for orphans) maybe the Checker at 8:29 too.
i have loved junkyards ever since my grandfather took me to my first. something about them. now all we need is bigfoot to crush some them. that would be heaven i even worked at one once

search Coffeyville ks on google earth. zoom in and you will se the highschool track, scroll to the left about 3 blocks to the west. then scroll south till the road ends, scroll west and you will see a dirt race car track, the salvage yard is next to it. it is huge.
Hey derbygus, did you ever figure out which salvage yard in Leavenworth these photos were taken at? I only live about an hour away in Salina and would like to take a look and maybe get some video and or pictures for the youtube junkies. = )
some of the pics are from Purkeys salvage in Coffeyville,Kansas. The demo cars with A1 automotive are at purkeys, and several of the Oklahoma tagged cars as well.
Surprisingly for Kanas there quite rusted out. It still is one of the best videos I've seen so far, tons of 57 Fords and Caddys, not to mention all the 59 Chevs!
I could SOOO spend a couple days at that place just makin' out a wish list....but then, why not just show up w/ a rollback and a pocket full o' cash and leave w/ my new toys
