I used to skate when I was younger, got chased by cops in SF back in 80's, I was a Deputy Sheriff for a very long time and never messed with skaters, sometime I had to ask them to leave an area but it cause the owners got pissed. One time I caught skaters filming at a school in the middle of the night, watched em for a bit filming a sick stairway...

Aside from that, there are many who have succesful jobs and enjoyable home-lives who skateboard on the weekends or with their kids.

I don't skateboard myself, but I'm not sure why anyone would be *opposed* to it. At the very worst (meaning the most opposed), I think the only logical position is to be rather indifferent to the sport. Not really caring about it; whereas others enjoy it.
