@Spazzosity lol believe me you should read it, because the books are more detail than the show..In the show they skip parts from the book, so the movie won't be too long..But it is also good to watch it, so it was be more clear when reading the book :)

It would be good if there were no corporal punishment scenes. Just cus hitting children was more common back then and there are people now who see nothin wrong with it doesn't mean that its okay. My kids are never going to watch this kind of nonsense, not while they're so little. 'Aunt Polly' is just plain abusive and 'Mr. Dobson' is the same. I find it all disgusting.

It's pretty obvious that the children who are in this film have been abused. Your being the fool hun, okay. Don't make me your enemy on account that I don't like corporal punishment cus that's just stupid. There are other ways to discipline children, people in general, without being violent. Not saying it's easy but still it's a fact.

@Mara22468 How do you feel about other countries in the world that use corporal punishment? It's about perspective, my friend from China, as a child was hit with a cane for bad behavior. I'm not a fan of corporal punishment but I don't believe people should compare their own social norms to other cultures. The movie is just showing how in history there was corporal punishment, children need to know about history so they can appreciate the present and to be able to inprove the future.
