  • Definitly awesome video...I also own one of those beasts...Great amp...One question...Do you have an US or European Rectifier? I mean do you need an output regulator?Heard about that those amps sound different...

  • @RoughT85 Thanks a lot! It's a European model, i don't have to use any power regulator.

As far as I'm concerned they sound pretty much the same. Maybe you could have a 5% difference tone-wise but that's all.

  • Hearts Burst into fire!!!!!! :D

  • I have a cherry red Prs soapbar. You just convinced me to get a Mesa.... It sounds like an absolute peice of shit with my fender frontman. If anyone knows any good tones which might work with a fender frontman 212r, please tell me!

  • 8:39 FIVE MINUTES ALONE!!! :D

  • that first riff, was that from a bullet song? i cant figure out what song but it sounds really familier

  • @shizzlefohizzle417 Hearts burst into fire!

  • @falden82 what was that stevie ray vaughn song at 6:25

  • What is the finish on the guitar? Black Slate?? I'm looking at either charcoal burst or black slate, what you have there is beautiful

  • @mitrismaster02 I think it's called Gray-Black. It's an old guitar with old color description. They have different color names now, so it's hard to tell which is the "new Gray-Black".

  • they should call this the triple rectum-frier.. cause i shit myself like... three times during the whole video.

  • MY NEXT GUITAR !!! I'M DREAM WITH GUITAR HAHAHAHA

  • What was that jazzy stuff you played at 5:30?

  • @xXlopoXx actually it's from 5:15, Stevie Ray Vaughan - Riviera Paradise

  • I have a doubt! My current guitar is a very unreliable pitch, I wonder if these guitar tuning and unstable! Thanks !

  • @tthhiiaaggoo1000 The PRS he is using? Yeah they're stable, as they should be for the price-tag they come with.

  • Synyster Gates uses this kind of amp!

  • non demon

  • What is the mic preamp (Studio Projects VTB1) for???

  • @megaluisdeth I've recorded this with an internal soundcard. If you use a mic you have to make it's signal louder before it goes into the computer. If you have any kind of audio interface you don't need a preamp anymore. That's what i do since this vid was made, i have my Lexicon Omega Studio interface and i don't need the VTB1 anymore.

  • The first song is Heart Bursts Into Fire - BFMV ????

    Cool :)

  • What song is at 3:20 or so.

  • @75SilentWarrior Whitesnake - Still of the Night

  • This has to be the most versatile amp I've ever heard. Great demo! My next amp? You betcha!

  • I'm not even interested in buying a Mesa; It's just nice to see someone who doesn't suck at doing amp demos. I'm glad you didn't use a stupid camera mic, or suck at playing guitar, or whatever. Great job bro. And awesome playing too!

  • I run a PRS std 22 thru a Dual Recto. They have similar sounds, although your setup is a bit brighter on the high gain channel. Excellent tight playing as well.

  • Do you like the diodes or the recto tracking??

  • have you at changed your settings now 2 years later? lol if so what are they? thanks bro keep rock'n!

  • @submit1 Hey man, no not really. I set the middle even higher, around 2 o'clock, sometimes even 3 o'clock. Otherwise no change.

  • Oh fuck.....4:08 it's Bother-Stone Sour

  • pengest guitar ever. Is the SE branch of gutars in PRS just like how epiphone is to gibson... and how ltd is to esp etc (a cheaper version)

  • @squiffyk7 Exactly! You can't make a mistake buying any PRS SE guitar though. With the other two brands you gotta keep your eyes open before buying something... haha

  • @squiffyk7 yea, but honestly, the necks on most se models are uncomfortable to me.

  • does channel 2 sound the same as channel 3? he didn't demo it.

  • @mrguitarguygates yup, it does. A slight difference in the character but basically the same. Same gain, same sound options (raw, vintage, modern).

  • What do you think about the tremolo of this guitar? Strings stays in tune after you use it (tremolo)?! Actually I have a guitar with Floyd Rose... And thinking seriouslly about a PRS Custom 24...

  • @defragjones Well... it's somewhere between vintage tremolos and floyd rose trems.

It's pretty stabile and feels nice to use.

It's not built to do dive bombs thought...

  • @falden82 Well, I´m worried much more about it stays in tune after used... I don´t use to do dive bombs! Even with My Floyd! Strings out of tune are common with bridges like Fender´s Wilkinson!

  • @defragjones i never have to tune my prs never and i use the trem alot so if that answered your question. and the prs tremolo system is much more efficient than any trem system out there floyd roses and others with locking nuts cut your tone the locking tuners on prs guitars are awesome

  • @prsplayer210 Wow! I really liked it! Yhanks! :-)

  • @defragjones prsplayer210 answered your question just perfectly. PRS makes awesome trems. No need to worry.

  • That clean tune at the star of clean demo so reminds me of under the bridge by rhcp.

  • @velebr3 it's bother by stone sour.

  • What is the first song he plays after sayin let's roll baby? For some reason I can't place it

  • @FMLSINGER Hearts Burst into Fire - Bullet for my Valentine

  • Damn that's beautiful. I want one, and with the new 50 to 150 watts, they are versatile as ever. So worth 2000 dollars...

  • Hey man.. I just checked with guinness,,,, they wanna talk about your entry !

  • @RasputinsFate haha, great! I'll be famous! ROFL

  • actually the line 6 spider mk ii is a great amp

  • @nathanexplosion94 ...lol.

  • @nathanexplosion94 Sure it is. It's great for many ocations but still: it's not in the same league with tube amps. That's all I wanted to point out.

  • @falden82 its a tube amp that both line 6 and bogner made

now i know its not the best amp in the world, but it is the amp for people who want an all in one deal with effects and tone

  • @nathanexplosion94 it's also made by a POS company

  • Seeehr Gut,

bin genau deiner Meinung! Erstes vernünftiges Vid!

    Guter Sound,Gute Demo

  • STILL OF THE NIIIIIGHT!

  • Thanks a lot great demo! And a nice playing guitar guy :9

  • whatta rich guy

  • what song are you playing at 6:59? awesome demo.. thanks! nice playing sweet tones

  • @lordofthemetal1 I think In Your Face by Children of Bodom

  • @lordofthemetal1 6:48-7:35 Children of Bodom - In Your Face. Thank's man!

  • Synyster gates also uses this amp. (Avenged sevenfold)

  • I liked the Bodom cover..;D

But hey, I'm thinking of buying this guitar when I get the money because I love every PRS I get my hands on. since I'm obviously a Death Metal guy, would it be wise for me to install Seymour Duncan Blackouts in it? I'm looking for a Necrophagist-like crunch.

  • @DeathMetalTim32 You could try that for sure (swap the PU's).

But first I'd try some heavier passive PU's.

Maybe you find one really awesome and then you save yourself some trouble. A guitar needs quite some altering if you change from passive to active PU's.

  • @falden82 I've been debating on getting Blackouts or some Dimarzio's, but I've never played with DiMarzio's before so I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to enjoy it, despite everyone saying they are amazing :P

Thanks for getting back to me, man.

  • Very nice playing and excellent demo, thank you.

  • SAD BUT TRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUE.. that is the definition of a crunchy fucking sound.

  • @IxImetal4lifeIxI jesus christ 5 minutes alone and mouth for war were just perfect

  • It's totally black or white by MJ!! hahaha thats awesome!!

  • Im jealous of that rig

  • what is the name of the song at 2:33??

  • @Wessel99 sounds like Michael Jackson - Black or White.

  • Hey, I'm just wondering if you could tell me what song your playing at 4:34 or if it's just some improv, I can't help but fall in love with the versatility of your playing, the cleans your getting out that amp are nothing short of enviable!

  • @TheNinjatoker420 4:34: a short part of a Pat Metheny song called James.

Thank you for the kind words. Reactions like this makes the whole recording/editing worth the trouble.

    Cheers bro

  • @falden82

hey man what speakers does ur cab have? v30's?

  • Boom, nice vid;)

  • I would looove to see this amp comparing to Egnater Armageddon. :)

  • IN YOUR FACE!!!!

  • SAD BUT TRUUUUEE!

  • Hey guys sorry for the stupid question I've ner had tube amp all my heads amplifire are solid state line 6... i was thinking of buying a mesa Triple Rectifier or Dual Rectifier but i dont know the diffrence. i was thinking of buying the triple but if there is not much diffrent between the dual then to save money i'll get the dual if anyone would please help me decide. also i was looking of buying a marshall JCM800 2203KK Kery kings model wich is the best? please help.

  • @areacode718 I would recommend anything but the Kerry King amp. It has a very limited tonal range for the price (overpriced) but if any of these amps that you mention are going to be considered as your first tube amp I would read the manual front to back on how to properly operate them. Not calling you a dummy by any means but alot of people fry tube amps because of lack of setup knowledge.

  • @KurtInTheDirt Thanx for the advice. I may get the Triple Rectifier.. i found one for $900 almost new ^_^

  • @areacode718 DON'T get a Marshall. They're perfect for Rock and roll and have decent amounts of gain. If you want the high gain crunch get a Mesa Boogie.

  • starts out playing bullet for my valentine.. awesome

  • look on the guys shirt! its Bosse! fearedse's dog if you didnt know haha

  • there's no reason to match black or white to sad but true

  • IN yoUR FACE!

  • 5:43 nice play :) can i have chords pls

  • 6:50 In Your Face! \m/ You're a great player man! Keep it up :)

  • i was thinking of buying either a ibanez s or this, which one would you reccomend

  • serait tu quebecois, you have a familiar accent

  • @meigs666 wow, so you also come from Hungary and lived in Queens - NY as a child? Maaan and I thought I was alone... LOL

    Just kiddin'

    Take it easy!

  • @falden82 humm yeah i was really ,really stone when i wrote that lol,but man i want one of these amp even if my amp gives me something close

  • Awesome, heard a lot of great songs in there. You really did this amp justice (:

  • Why would you spend the money on a tube amp of this caliber and still use a distortion pedal? I dont get why people do this??? Why fuck up a beautiful tone with some solid state garbage? I dont get it? People who do this do not know how to dial in tone. You are an AMATEUR!

  • @Jerrysway wooow maaan relaaax... :) I see you are a real tone master.

But before being so informed, clever and arrogant please watch my review about using the tube screamer pedal. You find it on youtube under the name: Boosting with a tube screamer part 2 (with a Mesa Triple Rectifier).

I especially made it for well informed people like yourself to understand "why people do this". Nobody fucks up here any tone. Just customizing it. A tube screamer changes max. 5% of the amps tone, not more.

  • @falden82 I do not claim to be a tone master or anything of the sort. It is not hard to dial in tone with the EQ on the amplifier. But I still do not understand why you would use a pedal, even for just 5% of the tone. I've seen cats use tube screamers and such for some extra juice while recording a solo, but to incorperate one into your overall tone just doesnt make any sense to me, but thats just me I guess. To each their own, I apologise for being a asshole in my reply, peace.

  • @Jerrysway

Mesa's are known for being pretty... not very tight. People use OD pedals with no distortion as a clean boost to get an even tighter sound, especially for the modern stuff.

  • @themodernguitarist My thing for that is a 8 or 10 band graphic EQ with a gain level in the effects loop. Tightens things up and the gain adds some umph!

  • @Jerrysway Are you talking about the Overdrive? OD's are used to boost high gain tones. They don't completely change the amp's tone into sounding like a solid state : o

  • whats that riff you played at 2:00? that was awesome

  • @o0oFIZZLEo0o Hearts burst into fire - bullet for my valentine, thanks man

  • since you like you metal, could i ask ive recently got a prs custom 24 with stock pickups and ive found that the bridge sounds very bassy no matter how i eq my amp, do you find that the prs sounds really bassy and big sounding?

  • @uomoscozzese no, actually prs' sound pretty balanced, not thick not thin. Try your guitar with other amps as well. If it still sounds strange then the wiring or the pickups are dead, ya better let a pro check it out for you. Hope the best for you man

  • @falden82 im used to diamarzio fred in the bridge on my ibanez js1000 which has a great balance for eq, but the prs sounds massive on the neck in a good way but the bridge prs hfs pup just sounds really round and not modern more vintage sounding, it could also just be the sound of the guitar but ive ordered a dimarzio mo joe pup to see if its just the the tone i want, thanks

  • You shouldn't have used the pedal. I think you should have used more of the amps powerful gain control to give it more warmth.

  • @MegaCrappyusername normally i don't use any pedals (check out my videos with the Peavey 6505 amp) but the Rectifiers are way too muddy for high gain stuff. Try one, you'll know what I (and many others) mean.

  • Hell I love that clean tone u got, the first playing trhough with the clean sound was awesome! XD but as falden82 said I would prefer the Peavey for high gain, but as said, that clean tone was really sweet! :)

  • whats the difference between this an a marshall?

  • @pacokja The difference? Ohh it's not that big... Only a whole other world!!! They sound totally different.

Marshall: low gain amp for old school stuff, blues, rock, hard rock music.

Mesa Rectifier: high gain amp for brutal, modern, metal, rock styles.

  • @falden82 Oh... ok. Thanks a lot.

  • @falden82

Unless your Marshall is a DSL, TSL, Valvestate, 2203KK, or JVM. =P

  • @falden82 I have to say that a marshall can be easily be used for metal and other "modern" styles. The recto does have a harder, more powerful gain to it, but marshalls have more than enough for playing stuff like punk, and metal, and shred.

  • @that1stupidkid613 Yeah, you're damn right. I was only talking about my old plexi. ;) Not about JVM's, JCM's and other "modern" Marshall heads.

  • @pacokja an there s not "a marshall" ... of course the marshall brand is know for its british, dirty sound character, but there are a lot different Marshall models ...

  • from a custom 24 owner i got to say i love your and this guitar can make an shity amp sound alright and this one out of this world looking into the duel reactor is this a difference at all decides the third channel

  • very good!

  • GOOD SOUND? KILLER TONE!!!!

  • Dude, this is the review that i was looking for

  • Stone Sour - Bother *_______*

  • good sound...

  • Amazing. That's all I can say

  • how much is a custom 24 worth used?

  • @killa322 hard to say, it depends on a lot of things. Check it out on ebay

  • @killa322 you can get a pretty decent one for about 1500

  • what EQ you use in channel 3? i have got the same guitar and amp but i cant sound like you please help me,its hard use the mesa boogie

  • @888silverstein888 you find all the settings in the vid from 1:37.

  • hey what string gauge do you use?

  • @felipescalador 10-42's

  • YO me quejo mas porque apenas tengo un squire tele y suena a lata

  • stupid question but im new to all the amp head and cab stuff. i play guitar for four years and have a shitty combo so im buying arectifier and a engl vintage 30 cab . What confuses me is the back plate of the amp head , its says slave out what is that ? and then there is the fx loop . someone explain please : /

  • What color is your Custom 24?

  • @snizzballer924 if i'm correct it's called gray-black

  • hey dude which do you like more the Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier or the Peavey 6505? battling between these two amps but i just cant decide please please help me dude nice playing really good due :D

  • @TheMetalhead804 I actually prefer the Peavey. The fact is that the Rectifier has one (awesome) sound and that's it. It's great for high gain stuff, and has a nice (but a little too dry) clean channel. But I don't really love the bluesy or lower gain crunchy sounds of it. On the other hand the 6505 does produce a lot more dynamic low gain sounds. It sounds somewhere between a Rectifier and a Marshall.

Aaaand (unlike the Rec) the Peavey has waaaay enough gain reserves... haha

  • @falden82 haha thanks for your help dude i think ill go with the peavey then thanks dude :D

  • Is the triple Rectifier good for chugs? i like playing heavy breakdowns. Thinking about buying one. Great video

  • @josephbeatdown Well... i'd only recommend it for chugs and fast palm muted stuff with a boost pedal. Without it's not enough gain or if you turn it all the way up it gets pretty muddy. You might wanna try out some ENGL or Peavey amps. Those are really made for the music you mean.

  • @falden82 i've tried mesa boogies they were everything i ever wanted they don't get muddy on me..

  • BEATLES!!!

  • @caulinrocker1 Beatles forever man! Those guys were just awesome! :)

  • Nice choices for songs, good sir. Definitely a great sound - reminds me why I fell in love with Mesa Boogie players' guitar sounds in the first place. Very nice overall review.

  • I gave you a like but you need to strengthen you're rhythm, especially when you're switching from key to key.

    Keep it up.

Get a good teacher, If you don't have one.

    Cheers :)

  • @enbredism Thank's for the like man!

Otherwise: what are you talkin' about? Llet me know what you mean with strengthening. Which riff disturbs you?

I had just quite enough great teachers in the music collage i've got my diploma.

But maybe you could upload some stuff to show me how I should do it? I'd appreciate it!

Don't get me wrong, I don't say I'm fuckin' perfect or something. I only say that I know my limits and I can ensure you: these stuff in my vid's are not close to it.

    cheers :)

  • this amp is proper nice for metal, their is no getting away from that, its totally sick, but on the clean channel I don't think its as good as my hot rod deluxe, do you agree, if you add gain to the clean then it breaks up and becomes great, but totally clean I like mine better, mind you that is all the hot rods are good for, as the drive channel is crap, they have tightened it up, but I think its still the same, thinking about getting a vox ac30 for metal, rather than sell my hrd and get one

  • @TheTangentUK all rounder, I love my hrd for clean, so getting a vox ac30 for dirty mite be the better option, as if you get a great amp for metal the clean channel always suffers a little, and visa versa, two amps is not piratical, but the only option I think. This amp is mind blowing good and the clean is still good, what tubes are in it mate. some people say messa boogie is over priced, and if you spent the same money on a vox you would get more amp for your money ? what are your thoughts

  • great demo man, and you have actually givin me the information I need on a recording quistion, now I am going to go out and buy one of them MICs and one of them studio projects, and plug them into my laptop, before I seen you demo I was not sure what I needed, now I know. I have a hot rod deluxe 3 which is great sounding for clean, and I want to record a bit better than just my laptop speakers, I am starting to get into metal a little as well, so maybe next year I will get a used amp like this

  • @TheTangentUK as these amps are like £3000, I saw a used road king for £1400 and they are £3200 new, so that might be the road I go down, I have the money, but if I get a used one I can spend the rest on a new guitar, I have a USA 1995 ltd strat with matching head stock, and a tele which is mex, but I am trading that in, as I want a USA vintage tele, which used I can pick up for £750. I have joined your channel, so maybe if I need advice U would help me out, cheers

  • @falden82 Are you just playing through the head?

  • @theAustinization Read the description under the vid, you'll find your answers. (it also stands in the vid)

  • HEARTS BURST INTO FIRE!!!!!!!!

  • your videos are awesome man, the perfect amount of humor and some seriously professional guitar tones. thanks for sharing the raw power of this thing

  • beautiful guitar!!! I love PRS guitars!!

  • man, i had to click my morphus drop tune down like three steps to grab that sound you had at the intro of the vid... were you tuned that low? btw, great demo !!!

  • Rock on dude! your accent is awesome - great playing!

    Cheers

  • Comment removed

  • your band's intro music and tracks sound awesome.

  • song 2:30 i feel really dumb but i can't think of the name!!??!?!

  • @guitarsbunch347 Black or White!! MJ classic :)

  • Well this amp is 2444 Euros +150 Euros the footswitch. Not cheap!

  • Riviera Paradise, what a song man. R.I.P Stevie.

  • i fucking loved the entire video, expecially the SRV moment

  • You have to play 'Sad But True' right. :P

  • In Your Face. Oh yeah

  • Man... you are amazing. Trully deserves all those gear. My dream is to have one of these guitar. PRS Custom 24 is the holy grail of guitars.

  • 4:31 was truly beautiful! Is that a song or you just improvising?

  • You remind me of keanu reeves.

  • Bakker, 200.000 hozzászólás, nem semmi :D. De ami jár, az jár! :D

  • BFMV :D

  • What's the difference between the triple and dual rectifiers? They both sound epic.

    6:48 IN YOUR FACE! Awesome!

  • @tenhundredkills

the triple rectifier is 150 watts and the dual rectifier is 100. The triple rectifier has 3 rectifier tubes and the dual has 2. Not that much of a difference

  • a prs and a rectifier. perfect.

  • Definitely one of the greatest Triple Rectifier demos ever, fantastic work man!
