i'd say heat is like your lava lamp...the light oil that always sits on top, then the globs of gooey stuff that bubbles through and then the heat from the lightbulb at the bottom lol

So, based on your (excellent) review, I totally see a correlation between your description of the scent and the packaging. The bottle gets progressively darker red as it goes down, and you said it gets warmer as you wear the scent. Thought that was kind of cool.

I went to Ulta today with my daughter. We took sample cards from at least 2 dozen of the most expensive perfumes in the place, including Dior Cherie. The ones I left with were Valentino Rock N Rose, YSL Parisienne, Escada Sunset Heat, Escada Island Kiss.....AND Beyonce Heat.

It sounds like a gourmand, the way you describe it. I imagine a thick syrupy gourmand. I don't think I'd like it but who knows? The bottle and the color of the liquied is gorgeous, so is the packaging.

all the sample i've smelled of this smell so different from the bottle i purchased! even when i tested a couple sprays at macy's, i just felt like it was lacking fruity notes, it was almost gag worthy...but when i took my bottle out of the box and sprayed a few drops on my wrist, it was like a pure sex! i've been absolutely loving it, and i'm so so surprized!

i totally agree with you on this scent, its super confusing ! sometimes it smells like rat poison and sometimes it smells sexy. sometimes it gives me a headache, and sometimes i feel confident wearing it. if it was 30 dollars id go for it but since its 60 i feel like its not worth it at all ! the bottle looks and feels super cheap too, its like a bath and body bottle and the scent has the same quality. at bath and body u can get a spray for 5-6 .

i heard many similar complaints about this fragance some ppls even claim it made them sick. and now i see why the note in this fragrance dont match. there's a rumor beyonce doesn't wear fragrance because shes allergic. i recall reading in a magazine where she said herself she didn't like parfum and prefered the natural smell of the boby. she thought that was sexier. this could be reason why this fragrance is a mess.

She was asked in 04' about perfume and she said she isn't allergic and she did wear perfume when she was younger. There are even videos of her spraying herself with Heat

Awesome reveiw. I wish all pefume reveiws were like this. Funny and entertaining but also very informative. The lava lamp is cool, but kinda distracting, haha. Love it! As for my opinons on the actual fragrance, I don't really like it. It's too heavy for me.

I'm not fond of "Heat" IMO its one of those scents that smells okay on the first spray but after like 5 seconds smells kind of gross. Glad I got to try it and didn't buy it.

Great review! I totally agree with you on the can't decide if I love it/hate it. I love magnolia and vanilla... two of my fave notes, but that peach/nectar mix is the most synthetic, cheap smelling note ever. ugh. It just cheapens the entire fragrance. Because of this I passed on Heat :/.

I agree! The peach sets a tone I don't like. I think I would have enjoyed it otherwise. But Beyonce's look and campaign were great for the Heat concept.
