  • you know all the actors for these episodes have appeared in doctor who in the past..........think about it, karen gillan(AmyPond) appeared in doctor who series 4 in the episode the fires of pompeii, bernard cribbins (Wilfred Mott) last appeared in 1967 in the peter cushing movie Daleks Invasion of Earth 2150 AD, also notice that this detective guy in planet of the dead, his father, was peter davison, so think about it, so many relatives are actors in doctor who,

  • if only

  • that was 4 not 5..... 5 had fire!!!

  • i hate matt smith bring david back

  • colin baker is my favourite doctor

  • I was wondering if you could do me a massive favor, do you happen to have these clean titles in HD resolution/quality? Just wondering because I am wanting to experiment replacing the new series 5 titles with the old ones but I can seem to find any clean titles in HD anywhere.

  • 'who' has seen the new 'who' titles?

THEY SUCK. the show is great but the TITLES SUCK!

  • There's rumors he'll come back for a special...

  • Comment removed

  • oh god! the wait is becoming painful

  • this was a fab homemade effort but it aint gunna be like that but i still thoght it was brill xx lovee ur channelll please subb meee coz i lovveee ur vids like hell matt smith = mmmm hot xx

  • hey guys are the daleks really returning? im gonna be so happy if they do

  • @BeakyRed Yes, the Daleks are back in Series 5, Episode 3: "Victory of the Daleks" by Mark Gatiss. It's based on a cancelled comic book called "The Dalek Project." The episode is about Daleks disguised as grey military weapons during WWII. They're hatching an evil plan and pretending to be good and loyal to Winston Churchill.

  • the episode only just aired to us like 2 weeks ago. they do replays on fridays (like 2 episodes behind) for people who missed it out which is a good thing because i missed it. looks like its gonna be excellent. you gotta love their dark reputation and robotic voice with the blue camera

  • @BeakyRed It does look like it's excellent from the trailers, unfortunately it's not. It turns out it was a last minute episode written when BBC Worldwide requested a new Dalek design to sell more toys. The entire episode is just an elaborate way of introducing the New Paradigm Daleks, a new variation which most fans think look silly and are reminiscent of Power Rangers. The blue camera you like is gone, too.

  • @mowingthefrontlawn actually stephen moffat requested the different colours as the yellow eternal dalek will play a big part in a future story. The different colours are also used to identify which dalek is in charge and to pay homage to the classic series in which the daleks were multiple colours.

  • @pottyaboutpotter1 We're both right. Moffat didn't want the Daleks to be back at least until Series 7, because he felt they had been overused in recent years. However, BBC Worldwide asked Moffat to introduce a new type of Dalek so they had toys to sell. To appease his bosses, Moffat ordered the Daleks to be different colors so BBC had a few new toys to sell.

Also, the Daleks were never multicolored in the series. You might be thinking about the 1960s Dalek films, instead.

  • @mowingthefrontlawn i think i am thinking about the films. I can only rmember the multi colour daleks

  • @mowingthefrontlawn

Yes they were! Fronteir in Space, Day of the Daleks. Both these stories were canon, Jon Pertwee serials, and both features multi-coloured Daleks.

  • @SuperRichi1A Right, sorry, I should have said technicolor. The ones in those stories were the standard Daleks, a Supreme Dalek, and a Supreme Dalek of the Dalek Council. Even recently, we've still had little variations like that. I meant that we've never had bright, technicolor Daleks.

  • David might return. they did a thing like that in the old series

  • its quite possibly since there is his clone on the parallel universe with Rose

  • there's another good point

  • i cant wait till season 5, its gonna rock, and the scary angels are back, aw sweet!!

  • Colin Baker is probably my favorite Doctor.

  • same with me

  • i want tennant back from what iv seen on the new year special the new doctor matt smith is a twat

  • @ceromaker he hasn't even properly started yet, give him a chance O_O everyone hardly knew Tennant when he started

  • he only showed on tv for 30 seconds, and morons kept complaining that he offended people with ginger hair, ok, one thing to those people, so what?

  • they changed the logo

  • wow how'd you make this?

  • i still think the 9th doctor was the best

  • he was only in one season

  • David was the best doctor ever

    BRING HIM BACK !

  • No Worries, The Human Doctor 10 is still with Rose in the alternative universe. He can come back. Tennant might want to do some other projects before returning.

  • @Strappl3b3rryCak3 He was to you. Not me.

  • well they might do one of those charity specials again where they see the past few doctors, and foxsolid is right, there is the human clone of tennant, he can possibly return soon

  • @Strappl3b3rryCak3 NO, onwards and upwards to new and exciting things! It's what the show is about, cant stick around for 7 years in this day and age. Not unless you're getting really bloody good scripts... maybe Matt will stay around and become a Tom Baker figure, who knows. He'll have the scripts to do it, that's for sure. Not ONE episode of the new 13 starting on saturday that I'm even slightly worried about... not one.

  • @riaminal STFU.

  • @Strappl3b3rryCak3 Yeah...Let's NOT.

  • how u edit names in?

  • i think it might be Sony Vegas. £80 but u cud find it on utube free

  • I think they will pkeep this title sequence for Series 5 but change it in the 2010 Christmas special because the old theme tune (ecclestons one) was kept for three years then in Voyage of the Damned they changed it which means that it is very likely that this will be in series 5 and then in the 2010 christmas episode there will be a new title sequence with that new logo.

  • very good van made trailer 5 star

  • It's almost likely that these titles won't be used for the 5th series cause Steven Moffat said he might be dropping the vortex titles.

  • Series 5 will be bittersweet =( new season, new doctor.

  • David Was Deffinetly One Of Those Doctor's Like Tom Baker, Who Will Be Know As Being The Doctor :)

  • right

  • david tennant was the best doctor so far

  • it makes me so sad to not see david tennants name up there

  • when does the new series come out please someone tell me

  • 2010 ?

  • January 2010 I think...

  • spring 2010

  • @mustkillzombies

    probably March 2010.

    around spring

  • awesome work !

  • I'd like to have a good alien travel with the doctor aswell as the companion!

    that would be so cool!!!

  • i might be stupid, but we are another universe, he exists in a tv universe, he could crossover in our real universe, which means two matt smiths

  • @kylephantom4 Doctor who is fantastic, but it is just a story so how can it be another universe called tv universe. good idea though

  • well tv universe as in another earth, like rose being in another earth, we are techniccaly the same, but we dont completely believe in aliens, until they show up, but it would be cool if the tardis somehow appeared out of the tv show and into the real world, and i also dreamed that david tennant was in my school cause he wanted to say goodbye to everyone before he retired from acting

  • How do you know that they are redesigning the inside of the TARDIS?

  • it was in the paper

  • it'll be refreshing to see a new interior, a new title sequence (and hopefully a better version of the theme tune) a new logo too? not to mention a new doctor, who looks young yet acts his age and what looks like a fairly decent new companion who wont have her whole family involved too. Perhaps my favorite change will be that of head writer and exec because Moffat can write good stories and i like his vision. role on 2010!

  • they are not changing the titles, they've only just updated the movements of the names at xmas and a brand new version of the Tardis Model in 3D for the titles. oh and made the Show in HD which makes the titles more Wider and not in your face

  • Dr who is my favourite show :)

but I am nervous, totally agree about the 'comfort' eugh I hope it isnt rubbish and cringy!

because I love David Tennant as the doctor and don't want to be put off the show!

  • Most people are worried, mainly due to the fact almost every series/season of DW there has been at least one cast member who the audience has been familiar with moving on with a new cast member (e.g. Ten was introduced when we all still had the comfort of Rose, Martha was introduced when we had comfort in Ten) Series 5 will kind of be like Series 1 in the sense it's completely new, in fact you could say the entire show is Regenerating.

  • she sounds great. series 5 sounds like they are completly re-inventing it again. and i can't wait intill it airs. but i'm looking forward to davids last episodes. though i dnt want him to go. it's weird. i can't wait to see matt smith but i dnt want david to go. and it should be matthew smith it sounds much bette r for a show like doctor who.

  • That's brilliant! Well done! It's interesting to see what might be for Series 5 if they don't change the title sequence...but in all likelihood they will I reckon!

Regarding Karen Gillan's casting...congrats to her! Welcome to Doctor Who! I look forward to seeing her and Matt Smith in action next year! They're gonna be fantastic I'm sure!

I'm happy with Matt's casting! I'm happy with Karen's casting! I'm ready for Series 5! Bring it on! It cannot come soon enough! :)

  • i hope they dont change it.

i mean, im all for change, but all of this is overwhelming me, mostly because i have no life, and this is a HUGE deal to me.

i fel like changing the titles will put me over the edge, just a little bit, but i suppose i will get used to the idea soon enough. :( I am ready to look her up and explore her acting though!

well.. excluding the fact that donna's grandfather is coming back.

i am not trying to sound mean, but did u not like 10??

  • I think the 10th Doctor is fantastic and his era is fantastic and I'm sad and devastated that those times are going to end. The 10th Doctor could have gone on for another 3-years I felt...but I'm excited at the changes to come. I trust in Steven Moffat's decisions. The stories he wrote across the first 4 series have been some of the best produced and I feel sure that the 11th Doctor's era is going to be as fantastic as the 10th Doctor's era...if not better. I'm enthusiastic about the future. :)

  • Exactly the same way I feel. A lot of fans are worried Series 5 will be too different from Series 1-4, mainly because it's a completely new cast. New Doctor, new companion, new TARDIS design, new head writer. But to be honest I'm looking forward to it. Steven writes the best episodes and Karen Gillan looks like a good companion. I just hope Matt Smith can be as good as David Tennant has the last 4 years.

  • new TARDIS design, since when?? *PANIC*

  • I don't know...but it will be fine. Trust in Steven Moffat. The guy is as much a fan of Doctor Who as anyone. He won't steer us wrong.

  • They're redesigning the inside for Series 5

  • Matt Smith has big shoes to fill, I agree. David Tennant is to today's generation what Tom Baker was to the generation of yesteryears - THE Doctor. But I think Matt will do it. He'll be as different to David as Peter Davison was to Tom but he'll definitely be the Doctor we all know and love. Doctor Who is in safe hands. I'm 100% certain of that. Moffat makes me that secure with his writing. Matt makes me that secure with what he's said in his interviews and what I've seen of his past work.

  • Yeah I'm sure Matt will be great as the Doctor especially with Moffat's writing, I can't wait now although I (like many) will miss David.

  • i agree (again!)

  • i definitely agree, it is just me being a nerd, and somehow uninformed with some of the lesser changes going on (ie-the TARDIS)

  • Well I'm a nerd too and wasn't aware that the interior was getting a make-over either. I'm looking forward to seeing what Steven Moffat has in mind for it. I'm sure it will still retain the roundel walls and the six-sided console...but what shape it takes will be interesting. Organic? Technological? Wood and brass? There's no limit really. One thing I would like to see is more rooms. I hope there'll be a TARDIS wardrobe room scene again with the 11th Doctor picking out his new clothes.

  • that does sound cool... but i kinda think that maybe doing another one of those scenes is a bit repetitive.... even though it might be cool to start a new tradition!!!

i feel like it would be cool to have a more air-ish, lighter version...

  • I'm not sure how familiar with Doctor Who history you are, but the Doctor's had a wardrobe scene in the TARDIS since 1984 when the 6th Doctor is choosing his clothing. What was seen in "The Christmas Invasion" was nothing new to long-time viewers. Besides its always great to see articles of clothing belonging to past Doctors and companions hanging up on railings. I think they're nice subtle nods to the past. :)

  • really? i did not know that.. i am just starting to watch the older ones... although i am having trouble getting my hands on them... so im not too familiar with them,,

  • It's cool that you're checking out the adventures of Doctors 1 - 8! They are steadily being released on DVD so I'm sure you'll come across them.

  • im pleased to see them casting 2 unknowns for series 5. really think it needs it to bring about the next era.

i think they need to close off the rose/martha/donna story and focus on all new adventures

after all thats how its always been

  • I couldn't agree more! ;)

  • i agree... butim still nervous, i consider this the golden era of dr who. 4 me at least, i am part of the next generation (no pun!) whose parents grew up watching tom baker and peter pertwee.

  • see i think its due a renewal to keep the show fresh n all. I think a change of writeres and cast is what it needs now because i think the constant returning companions every couple of stories is just weighing down the show

  • i kindof agree, but i think it is kind of nice . it almost shows how the doctor has grown since past companions like sarah jane and rose in the end of season 1, in that he doesnt just drop them off and leave.

  • but then it was acknoledeged in season 2 that he does leave them behind because he cant face watchin them grow old and die

  • i feel like, due to the fact that he HAS said goodbye properly, and that he does still pick them up and visit them for a while every so often, he has shown that he's become selfless to an even greater degree in that he lets himself watch those around him grow old and die. he doesn't show how much it pains him, but he is doing it for their benefit, after he realizes what he has done with Sarah Jane.

p.s. i am basing this on the new series, not classic, as i am not too familiar with the storyline

  • ummm how did you do this?

  • used bluff titler for the names, put them into sony vegas.

  • Bluff Titler?

  • Karen Gillan is extremely fit.

  • Karen Gillan is from inverness and was born in 1987. She was the Soothsayer in "The Fires of Pompeii" episode in Season 4 of Doctor Who. She was also in Rebus and The Kevin Bishop Show.

  • That's really neat!

I'm really happy with the new companion choice.

  • aah, i can't wait!

  • SO exciting! :D
