Wow! This is a powerful and moving rendition of this wonderful hymn. This is my number one Easter hymn. If I have not heard this on Easter Sunday, then it is not Easter to me! Fantastic video!
I'm particularly happy with this - two trumpets, timpani, organ, choir and congregation. The last stanza is the Paul Halley (former Music Director/Organist at Saint John the Divine, NYC) harmonization and descant. I did my interlude before the last stanza in the style of Paul Halley.
I've enjoyed listening to this as I am a huge fan of Easter music, but would like to suggest you double check the spelling on the second verse in the video description...don't get me wrong, it's very helpful for folks like me to follow along with these hymns you've posted for those of us not as familiar with them, but I noticed it was "All reation seeks rebirth" when I think it should be "All Creation seeks rebirth"
Really beautiful~ how is the church arranged? all your videos that say "processional" have the choir walking out, lol. is the organ in the back of the sanctuary?
The camera is stationary so you don't always see the choir when they are moving. For festival processionals, such as Easter, the choir usually starts in the chancel, processes around the nave, and, as you see, then returns to their seating area before the conclusion of the hymn. The organ pipes, except for the Echo division, are in the chancel area directly across from the organ console.
The organ part towards the end was GLORIOUS!! How marvelous the sound! That instrument is quite nice and has a nice blend with reeds and mix. I wish I could have heard it in person!! MORE MORE MORE!!!
This is a totally over the top expression of praise and worship. It brings Jesus' resurrection to us and infuses it into our very souls. Alleluia! He is risen! He is risen indeed!
This is beautiful and I absolutely love the descant! All of the music in your videos is very inspiring and you are a truly talented music director/organist. Thank you for sharing with all of us!
Oh, and when you get time, please check your youtube inbox for my email.
Since the last stanza harmonization and descant is by Paul Halley, my interlude is inspired by his style of improvisation heard on his recordings from Saint John the Divine, NYC.
Good Job!

Excellent, this sounds great. What hymn book do you use as I've noticed your wording is modernised.
Has anyone ever said you look like President Eisenhower?
