i agree with you. Fair enough if it's a special occasion small firework display with music, or a bonfire night display or w/e cultural festivity to have music, BUT for new years, it's just wrong. It takes away a large portion of the fireworks, which on this scale would be VERY expensive. and as for the shells they are bigger than in other new years celebrations so the ONLY reason that stops sydney from having the best displays other than the atrocious music is the lack of variety.
