It's always good to see (or hear about) Japan again through the eyes of a newcomer. Seems like only yesterday when I first wandered the streets of Shinjuku--actually almost 10 years ago!
Tokyu Hands is expensive, Muji isn't that cheap either, but they actually have decent stuff (my whole apartment was muji stuff for several years). If you can get to the suburbs, Jusco or Aeon centers are good for cheap stuff. Better get used to walking - driving in Tokyo is less convenient than walking and using trains, and walking is good for you. Great to see your first vid of being here!
Hey Greg, I watched some of your videos for your journey to japan over the last year or so. I was surprised to see the title changed to "IN japan"! Glad to hear you made it! Congratulations!
You complain about the walking now, but if you keep it up you are gonna lose a shit load of weight buddy, I lost at least 30 pounds when I lived in tokyo (gained some of it back though being in Chiba). FUckin shit balls nigga, black black
you will get used to the walking, and the stairs, i promise. Atleast you aren't going threw it when the weather is sweltering and you cant breathe. I cant stand the cold and hot things, the subways do it too. People are dressed for the weather outside! WHy do they have the heat on so much!
I'm going back on the 5th so we should meet up :)
If you need help finding stuff shopping wise, I can probably help you!
i was getting used to the stairs, i think its mainly the jet lag, at dinner i was falling asleep because i normally would have been passed out for hours at that time lol. i feel bad for the students coming on the 5th, they have 1 day before placement exams!
aw, you saw jose, that's awesome: i was hoping for that.
omg, that is literally the FLATTEST pillow i have ever seen... even folded in half it isn't worth a damn, LOL. thanks for doing this vlog: i can't imagine how freaky it was to try to navigate japan at first, LOL.
i heart pedestrian-friendly cities, but they def take getting used to - i walk everywhere in ATL now, but when i first got here, i was a total train girl. =D
can i have that joker bear brik please :P lol

Shit, I hope you brought shoes to last you your whole time here. Only a couple stores in Tokyo carry shoes in your size.
Tokyu Hands. Yeah, like a high-level True Value/Sears/Spencer's Gifts. Got a floor-to-ceiling bookcase there a couple months ago.
Always trippy for long timers to hear from new arrivals. Oh yeah, I remember that being a shock, sorta thing.
