@Emoneyo2 well, sure, they get along at this super young age! Have you ever seen a human baby mistreating a dog or a cat? Thats just stupid to assume that cause cubs get along, they do it better than we do....they get along till when the survival instincts kick in, then its 1 cage for each, or else they will tear each other apart. If that proves anything, it just proves u did a very shallow analisis on the situation.

@horrorguy98 - you aren't allowed because they still have sharp teeth and claws, and although in a rational group of people, a person who sticks their hand in a cage and gets bit learns a lesson and gets teased for being dumb, in real life when that happens the person sues the zoo and the zoo can't take care of the animals anymore. So it's much safer for the zoo to just say no to everyone. :)

Their natural habitat is being destroyed. Leave them there, and they might just die out. I don't agree much with people keeping them as pets, but I think those conservatory places are a good thing. They're such gorgeous animals.

only because the cub has rosettes, instead pf point spots, ya kno....i am a keeper at the staten island zoo, & weve got both....the jaguars weve had since birth & they looked axactly like this, usually leopard cubs are a bit more furry too. =)

According to the zoo keepers, it was a leopard. It's a bit hard to tell when they are so small, I'm only familiar with the body build of adult jaguars. Are you basing your comment on the spots?

yes the spot pattern is more like jaguar's to me, leopard has a relatively low density of black spots. while jaguar's is like a jigsaw. But in this case I could be wrong, as he's still a cub.
