@TheTaosaur you know it! I have Gingerbread and have used it as a GPS nav unit. CyanogenMod has been a big improvement! I'm still trying to figure out how to mount it in a nice-looking way.
I need to check in here more often! I didn't think this would be nearly this popular. Glad everybody likes it, I'll be answering some of your questions in a little bit.
Um, this is pretty awesome. I was thinking about something like this and looking to see if someone already had. I'll need to come up with a better mount though, I cant use bungie cords in my Challenger, lol.
@LazarusDark Yeah, the way the Stang radio/dash is, there's no good place for me to mount it and still have access to my radio. I might have to remove the stock head unit and come up with something a little better looking!
I have a Nook Color that is rooted and running CM7. I really want to keep ADWLauncher for it (it integrates nicely with CM7). The rest of this stuff will work for it, right?
can you show more closely how you hooked it up to your car? i can see that it's just over your existing dash, how did u install the bungee on the case and how is it being held up on the car?
If u have made a DIY thread, please link, or just link to the case and bungee you used, and any other materials.
That bulky too big to carry constantly iPad of mine will be the best choice as a Holiday gift for a loved one this year...
Nook Color is the perfect size, the right blend of style form and, function. I actually see this device as much easier to integrate in dash. Hopefully we'll see that next. And with a dormant bluetooth function in there too, the possibilities are even tastier.
Plus as it's intended original function as an e-reader, it is the best. It goes everywhere with me already.
@tmk2280 You have to use the 3.5mm headphone jack on the nook, to goto an AUX or LINE input on your cars stereo. If your cars stereo doesn't have that, then no. But if you do have one of those on your cars stereo, then yes. That's what he was doing. That cord coming off the bottom right side is the 3.5mm headphone jack. Also, when he lifted it up so you could see his dash behind it, you could see LINE IN on the dash.
could you tell me your settings for your home screen with that music player and whats your background

So this isn't a demonstration of the mount? Just on nook features?

if you were to create a custom fiberglass mount for this, it'd possibly be one of the coolest things i'd ever seen.

Still rocking the NC? I assume you've upgraded to Gingerbread and have it tethered over bluetooth by now--big improvement, or about the same?

What happens when your out of WIFI range? Kinda sucks then... Wish we could hack a USB prepaid 3G card... -=(

@corsinivideos Let me help you
Click on "read more" on the description. Then read where it says "froyo." Tough I know but we can get through this.
Now read a little farther past that where it says "My homescreen features." Just under that it says "MortPlayer Music's "Car Mode"
Congratulations! You just learned how to read a description for a video!

Can the nook be connected like normal head unit? Can it be run through the cars audio system so amps or subs can be used?

Something that's missing from your description.
What did you use to mount this in front of your car dock?
It says bungee cord, but it wasn't too visible in the video. Can you take a picture of what you did?
Vux911 1 year ago
@Vux911 It would be vehicle specific. He found that he could put a small bungie cord wedged in his dash. You'd have to find what works for your car.
