The only thing on Thrust that resembles an F-16 are the horizontal stabilizers. The fuselage is completely the wrong the shape and the cockpit is too low. The turbine intakes are in the wrong location, the wrong shape and most importantly, seperated. An F-16 has a single oval-shaped turbine intake mounted on the bottom of the fuselage and the cockpit sticks up out of the fuselage. There's no way around it, this toy is not based on a F-16 in any way.

It's definitely based on the F-35. F-16s only have a single vertical stabilizer, and if you look at the top of the fuselage, you can see the molded hatch for the VTOL engine.

I'd have to say that Thrusts Jet mode is that of an F-35 JSF(Joint Strike fighter). an F-16 Falcon only has one rear vertical tail.
