It's really nice to see pop artists of the day doing something "live" that was a hit in the doowop era of r&r, like this #1 hit by Dion from 1962! I have it somewhere in my record collection.
This was a great show. I've seen the Boss many times. i also loved him trying to figure out how to play the tune. Took my 19 yr old daughter for the 1st time and she loved it too.
I was at this show last night.Absolutely the BEST Springsteen concert I've been to.Bruce gathered up the cardboard signs people in the audience had brought with them.He played some of the requests including this one which had stated "The Wanderer" and underneath that "Stump" as in stump the band. This was a cover song Bruce had not played in over 25 years but it came off great once they had it.
Thanks for posting this. Took them 2.5 minutes to get it down (probably how long it took them to get the words up on the monitor) but they really pulled this off well. There's just no stumping Bruce.
hey remember me, im the guy that loves your posts from the mansfield show. remember i wished you posted prove it. anyways your right you just cant stump the e street band
No monitor... I was about twenty feet from the stage, there was one camera facing him that was right behind me and that was it. He knew the words, somehow.
I was in the front row, and there was a monitor at the feet of his mic stand. It was flat on the ground. I thought it was some sort of guitar pedalboard at first, but soon realized it was a small lyric screen.
OOPS What I meant was that I am a witness to a Bruce Springsteen Not Stumped Virgin Masterpiece

Stone Pony, Asbury Park, NJ 07/25/82 w/ Cats On A Smooth Surface. The E Street band had never played it before, not Bruce.

This was a great concert. Very interesting to watch the band figure out 'The Wanderer' before playing it for the first time.

I love how Bruce prepares himself for something he hasn't played in a long time. Mumbling & strumming a few chords. But, he always nails it..

I was there too, it was my sign. He sang with his eyes closed most of the time. However he does have a TelePrompTer thats flat in the stage.
