my wife has just made me a salard, using bell peppers, i told her to keep the seeds, what i would like to know, is , can i plant the seeds now, in my greenhouse, or do i plant then next year, it has been a warm and dry spring here in the uk, can you please help
@mrsexpistols36 Hi there, if it was a pepper purchased from a grocery store, most likely the seeds are sterile. However, gardening is always a fun experiment & you should go for it. So yes, if you have a greenhouse get them in there asap! I live in Toronto, Canada so I started mine in doors a couple of months ago b/c it would be too cold for them. Best of luck!
@madpres Do what I did. Go to your local nursery and ask what they use. Most are semi-organic and their solutions are gentle on the plants and the soil. Something else to do is pair planting. For example, garlic drives away many bugs as do marigolds (great for tomatoes also). One last thing - herbs will also keep away many pests. Good Luck.
what will kill these pepper plants one is extreme heat, two is over watering, and three is over fertilizing. Last but not least is frost or extreme cold.
Are these able to be grown in containers? I am doing a tomato garden with three heirlooms and I planted pepper seeds and will transplant them. Will a 4 gallon bucket work for each plant I want to grow?
how long does it take for it to grow from seed to plant??

@madpres I use a flame thrower. It kills most any insect that dare attack my peppers. The flame thrower is also effective on tobacco mosaic.

Sure. I have mine in smaller containers than those and they are thriving. I have at least 6 buds on each plant.
