can someone help me I got Tropico 3 but when I put the disk in it doesnt start up no light flashing to tell us its reading and we go and check the "My computer" thing on start and go to the disc and it says nothing can someone tell me how to fix this?

First try using another disc i.e. a music CD or a movie DVD to see if your disc player is intact. If the drives light never comes on it could mean two things: 1 - Your drive is dead 2 - You have connect the data cable backwards to the drive. Sometime if your BIOS settings are messed up you computer may not be able to see the player. There is also a chance that your OS have issues with your drive. It's very unlikely that the game cause the symptoms you described.

The demo ran pretty well on my machine, and I'm still running an 8800 GTS

Ouch yea it sure is. Gonna be next to impossible to play the later missions. I recomend killing shadows and grass, what i always do on my laptop. But regardless, great game, well worth the cash.
