  • Hello, my name is Kelsey and I work for an event planning company and we are currently planning a wedding where the bride is interested in having tabla drums played during the cocktail hour. Do you know of anyone in the Boston area that performs?

  • @JamesMcG13

Hi Kelsey, unfortunately I don't know anyone in Boston area that performs. Good luck with the search.

    Regards,

    MTS

    Hi,

  • Dude i love ur playing, nice job, i admire the sound of tabla a lot, think u can give me some pointers on a good brand to buy and where and how to start playing? Thanks.

  • @drugdrum

Hey dude. Thanks for the comments. For a beginner, I would recommend getting any second hand pair of tabla to practice your sitting posture and hand technique on. Where are you based? If you can get a tabla teacher in your area that would be best I think. I got my professional set from Bhatia Musicals in Dehli.

Remember, practice makes perfect...you can never do enough practice!

    Regards,

    MTS

  • Very nice. I think it was very nice to play for your wife. I know the tabla is more than an instrument to me and to dedicate it to your wife touched her I am sure,

How long have u been playing?

  • Thanks,

I think those who really feel the music especially tabla know that it's so much more than an instrument . She was happy I did this on the day and sure she will treasure the moment.

I have been playing for over 10 years on and off. I'm thinking of posting more videos - what do you think?

    MTS

  • I hope people do more cultural things like this at weddings instead of that ear piercing

    shor-sharaba....tusin vaise vi kaafi talented

ho,so Good luck for future nikke veer ji!

  • Hope she appreciated that!

  • Intitally she thought I shouldn't be performing as I was the groom, but playing tabla on my wedding day was something I always wanted to do and we can now look back at this for years to come.

I was not expecting the encore request and she didn't know what was going happen next and looked nervous. She was happy that I did the dedication for her.

    MTS
