Hello, my name is Kelsey and I work for an event planning company and we are currently planning a wedding where the bride is interested in having tabla drums played during the cocktail hour. Do you know of anyone in the Boston area that performs?
Mike Tabla Singh, you know what?? I like your name !!! hehehehehe sounds funny. on the other hand. Great performance , I am thinking of doing something like this on my wedding day :D Thanks for the idea.
Dude i love ur playing, nice job, i admire the sound of tabla a lot, think u can give me some pointers on a good brand to buy and where and how to start playing? Thanks.
Hey dude. Thanks for the comments. For a beginner, I would recommend getting any second hand pair of tabla to practice your sitting posture and hand technique on. Where are you based? If you can get a tabla teacher in your area that would be best I think. I got my professional set from Bhatia Musicals in Dehli.
Remember, practice makes perfect...you can never do enough practice!
Very nice. I think it was very nice to play for your wife. I know the tabla is more than an instrument to me and to dedicate it to your wife touched her I am sure,
I think those who really feel the music especially tabla know that it's so much more than an instrument . She was happy I did this on the day and sure she will treasure the moment.
I have been playing for over 10 years on and off. I'm thinking of posting more videos - what do you think?
Intitally she thought I shouldn't be performing as I was the groom, but playing tabla on my wedding day was something I always wanted to do and we can now look back at this for years to come.
I was not expecting the encore request and she didn't know what was going happen next and looked nervous. She was happy that I did the dedication for her.
