Hello! One of my friend married with a Russian woman, and when he visited her home he sang this song, then many Russian said "it's popular in Russia,too but it is Ukrainian song".

He told me so and I searched on the Internet.

I got this thing that Russia introduced USSR's song as Russian song.

As you know Ukraine was a part of USSR. I'm sorry I don't know how it is called in Ukrainian.

you are confusing it with some other song. ukrainian folk songs in ussr were clearly credited as ukrainian folk songs. this one is russian. its lyrics are typically russian, not ukrainian. just in case, i searched for it in ukrainian, and i didn't find a single hit where someone would claim it's a ukrainian song. every single site credits it as a russian folk song. maybe you should confirm this with your friend again?
