  • Utterly wondrous . .

  • better bassline than Hysteria from Muse

  • ……. Simply stellar all the way 'round .……

  • superb stuffmy god that bassline...

  • Brilliance in action!!

  • Utterly euphoric. Just keeps improving with age. Like the Cocteau Twins at their best, this just take you to a much better place. Must have been something in the Scottish water! Two questions though; why wasn't this a single and where's Mr Rankine? He appears to have skipped off!

  • Great to see this!

  • Fantastic!!! Thank you so much for uploading this masterpiece!

  • Genius - check out the bas finger movements ?! holy cow....

  • @kiwijohn01 Apparently Billy wanted to replace Michael Dempsey as bassist, for the intended but very unfortunately, never realised, true Associates follow up to Sulk because Dempsey couldn't play slap bass! I never stop thinking what that album might have sounded like. It would have been nigh on impossible for it to have even come close to equalling Sulk but I have no doubt it would have bettered Perhaps. The more time passes, the more unique The Associates sound. And yes Rankine was a genius!

  • @kiwijohn01 You do of course realise that he's only miming and the notes he appears to be playing, actually bear no relation to the actual notes on this sublime piece of "pop" perfection. Btw, where's the one and only Mr Rankine got to?

  • unique genius....the track that starts lifting the gloom on "sulk".Its better this way STILL makes me cry like a baby...........billy r.i.p......genius.....

  • Well it's true, Billy was a genius, but: If you sit down for a couple of hours and try and work this tune out on a keyboard, you'll soon see that Alan Rankine was a genius too.
