It's not just the fact that he plays so well that it's amazing; you have to also realize he does this from memory!

It's actually easier than it sounds because muscle memory does most of the work, you just have to keep practicing and it'll just flow naturally.

If you know songs well enough they're easy to play from memory, much easier than reading sheet music. There are few musicians in the WORLD who can read sheet music and play the piano music perfectly along to it without it actually taking effort. Its not like reading a book out loud, its like adding something else into the syncronisation of both hands. Most piano players know what notes make what sound by the time they get decent, so knowing the song makes it cake other than fluency
