  • Causes of WWI? Look no further than the Rothschild's plan to create a One World Government. After all, it was their central banks from whom the empires borrowed the money to finance it.

  • anybody knows the actors' names???

  • I am doing a history degree and find this most useful....

  • This was the funniest video ever. But it helps to understand why the war started.

  • @mikotochan101 true hetalia did a great job at making the wars sexy lol

  • i love this!!!!

  • "any questions?" "yes..."

    "WHY?"

  • This just supports how stupid war can be....really....

  • @Codessrain Human conflict isn't stupid, it's just an unfortunate waste of life.

  • Why!?

  • 7 history lessons, no help

one HH video, ace essay done

  • WAR?!?!?!?

  • now, tea or coffee?

u right sir that is difficult!

    LOL

  • @SummerpoM I think Hungary would quite like Austria and germany together... YAOI! XD

  • @smurfkidharley. You are right with the "official" reason to why Britain declared war with Germany. Britain had a choice to whether she would fight against Germany. So why should the British government choose to pursue war against Germany? But when you take into various economic and colonial facts into account, Britain's fought against Germany when its costs exceed the benefits. It seems more plausible that Britain went to war for useless political agenda held by the government.

  • Austria And Germany Sitting in a tree K.I.S.S.I.N.G

  • TITANS128900 he said Arsenal not Arson

  • Roderich, Ludwig and Elizabeta disliked this.

  • Hetalia, what have you done to my mind?!

  • BS, it was France and Britain who declared war on Germany. Germany would have avoid declaring war on France to avoid a two front war and France was not a threat. France saw it as an opportunity to get even with Germany and Britain went to war to make a point that there should only be one major force in Western Europe - Germany was not welcome to compete with Britain (even though such competition brought no harm, but commercial benefits, to Britain's economy and her colonies).

  • @TKKTism not too sure but if i can remember back to history, germany did want to avoid war on two fronts, but war with russia would almost guarantee an attack from france, so germany's solution was to make the first move and attack france via belgium, we moved in to defend belgium and france which is how britain got involved (once again not 100% sure)

  • "Like or not like?" "That's not the decision, you fool!"

  • The General:Because Russia supports Serbia and Austria supports Bosnia

    Blankin:I Support Arson!

    Germany: >:(

  • i hope i don't sound like a stupid american, but when i was young i learned 4 M.A.I.N. reasons for WW1 were Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism and Nationalism

  • @tubertomp Well, because those aspects were present, everything escalated into a world war, however, an initial spark was necessary. The assassination of archduke Ferdinand was that spark. Also, this sketch does outline the A bit. Namely, Britain getting pulled into the war due to its alliances despite the fact that it wasn't related to the initial conflict at all.

  • I love matt and jim and ben. Ah I love them all.

  • I like this show, better than hetalia.

  • This reminds me of Baldrick's explanation of the start of WW1 in Blackadder!

  • @JKConquerer Yeah thats exactly what i was thinking, im trying to deside which explanation i prefure, i think im slightly on the side of Blackadders explanation being funnier.

  • I imagined that it was all the allied powers in that room from hetalia XD

  • Funny video. :)

Though the CentralPowers formed in 1879 and the Entente in 1904 (to counter the CentralPowers in a future war)

Von Schlieffen devised his attack plan in 1905

Germany pressured Austria-Hungary to drive a very harsh line with Serbia (thus angering the Russians). The German historian Fritz Fischer writes that Germany indeed was the country most responsible for egging on the cockfight, and spreading the conflict to other countries

WWI wasn't about some obscure archduke nobody liked

  • lol, "austria and germany sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G"

  • So where is bosnia??

    Haha :DD

  • 0:21 Surely Mathew Baynton would have prefered a Toffee or a Key...

  • both Ludwig and Roderich seemed to have disliked this.

  • one time jim is short, the other time he is tall?

  • why my country america got involved in ww1: germany attacked american ships and they were gonna take over mexico which was our friend

  • Last comment was a typo. I had to watch it "a few times to understand but I think I get the picture".

  • I had to watch this as

  • @ 1:50 you could almost see him mentally facepalm

Too many LOL moments to count... XD

  • General: "Who is Austria's best friend?"

    Travers: "Not Blenkinsop?"

General: "NO! Germany! Now Austria is Germany's best friend now Travers!"

Travers & Blenkinsop: "Austria & Germany sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"

    General: "Yes. So..."

  • I'm not even a football fan, but 1:00 to 1:03 was so funny.

  • Lol at Germany, they were huge once

  • austria and germany sittin in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g

  • I must have heard this when I was little in history class, but this is the first time I've properly heard why we went into WWI. How fucking stupid can this planet get?

  • "Nobody punches Blenkinsop in the nose and gets away with it!"

    "Thanks old bean!"

  • *Gentlemen, we face a most difficult decision.*

    *Oh dear, sir!*

    *Yes, now, tea or coffee?*

*You're right sir, that is difficult!*

*Thats not the decision, you fool!*

  • my favorite part 0:00-2:38

  • "well nobody punches blenkinsop and gets away with it!"

    "thanks ol bean"

  • We'll hop in there to defend Belgium.

  • Mat and Jim are absolute leg!!!! (and the others of course) :)

  • MAT :)

  • Hahaha! Yes! Hetalia Goggles Activate!

  • ?wat just happened?

  • I think horrible histories made Blinkensop say "I support Arsenal" not only to be funny, but to be clever. Know how an arsenal is where ammunition is made. Smart

  • @robbie10able actually an arsenal is where ammunition is stored but your point still stands.

  • @legostuffman512 thanks i'm not exactly smart about that stuff :)

  • so world war one was started because a bar fight got out of hand?

  • "I support Arsenal!"

  • @rexana i support liverpool

  • "Well, nobody punches blinkinsop and gets away with it"

    "Thanks old bean" LOL :'L

  • very comforting them repeating how very confusing it all is. I've got to fully understand all the causes by tomorrow.

  • Horrible Histories is 100x better than Hetalia will ever be, and yes I have seen it, was something of a fan.....then HH just blew them out the water.

  • and the Hetalia fangirls go wild.

  • "Gentlemen, we face the most difficult decision today"

    "Oh dear sir"

    "Yes, now, tea or coffee?"

"You're right sir! That IS difficult!"

    LOL

  • ahhh i wish there was a horrible histories video for every section of my history exam, i'd so get an A*

    this is EPIC

  • @chargers705 It's a Japanese anime in which each character is a personification of a certain country (and characterized by the stereotypes of that country- so America is loud and obnoxious, Britain drinks lots of tea and does black magic, Germany is all stern and yells a lot, and so on). It teaches world history through funny shorts. Most of the plot takes place during WWII, and Italy is the main character. Which is odd, because Italy was pretty much useless in the war.

  • @SunSparkle129 Which was personalified perfectly :)

  • lol i feel sorry for ben (if it was real) matt nd jim are just so awkward

  • well i might get killed sir lol:P

  • O...M....G!

I'm so freakin' happy 2 have stumbled upon this.

This is gonna be on my next history test! xO

Helped me out big TIME! :'D

  • tea...uum no coffee oh this is a hard desision

  • "i support arsenal" LOL that guy is awesome

  • Its like Eurovision neighbourhood freinds

  • AUSTRIA AND GERMANY SITTING IN A TREE

    oh god, hetalia XD

  • Wtf is Hetalia?

  • @chargers705 Basically Hetalia is an anime parodising world history, mostly on World Wars one and two. The characters are human forms of all the countries around the world, all of them portrayed by their steriotypes. You really should look it up, it's one of the funniest shows I ever seen.

  • This really explains why the First World War started. Pretty funny :)

  • Why did German and british soldiers have diferent colored lice?

  • THANKS OLD BEAN!

  • Comment removed

  • So WW1 was a essentially "mine's bigger than yours" war? Hummm....

  • this video saved me in my history exam :D

  • It took me so long to figure this one out!

  • "So if Russia threatens Austria, Austria's Best friend will offer support, and who is Austria's best friend?"

    "Not Blenkinsop?"

    SO LOL!!!!!!

  • "Because Russia supports Serbia, and Austria supports Bosnia and so on..."

    "I support Arsenal!"

    "Shut up Blenkinsop!"

  • no one punches blinkingsoff sir LOL

  • @mrallsop thanks for uploading this, i've been looking everywhere for it! :D My fave HH sketch!

  • When i first watched this I fell over with laughter.

  • @neosoc

Did you SERIOUSLY just say that? An Austrian shot because the shooter was hungry? Hungary XD.

Omg what do you call that pairing in Hetalia? GerAus? Worrying. Very worrying.

  • @Corsetry852

    As did I.

There is an AMV around somewhere (Hetalia AMV hell 1, I believe) that has this in it. I didn't watch it to that point but I will now.

  • 'Germany and Austria sitting on a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G...'

I spitted my water, and yes I'm a Hetalia fan

  • Shut UP, Blenkinsop!

  • So... tea *or* coffee?

  • So basically because Britain likes chocolate it went joined the war?

  • I could've sworn that the war started because a fellow named Archie Duke shot an ostrich because he was hungry.

  • @neosoc Blackadder reference. You win.

  • @neosoc good ol' Baldrick :)

  • @neosoc nice!

  • To be honest Germany was preparing for war long before any of this Russian and Austrian business took place! I mean do you really believe Germany created the 'Nazi's' and the biggest army in the world ready to take over it, just to stick up for Austria? This video is the most misleading video I have ever seen! Russia attacking Austria was just one of 100 reasons why Germany challenged the world and you know it!

  • @007Influence I think you're talking about World War II rather than World War I. Germany certainly was prepared for war in the 1870s just in case, but not to take over the world. They had a plan to attack France and Russia at the same time to protect their borders should either France or Russia attack Germany. The Nazis didn't appear as a significant force till after World War I and mostly as of a result of the Treaty of Versailles.

  • @lonepisces2 But Germany attacked Poland before they did anywhere else, their intentions weren't to defend themselves, but to put themselves on the map as equal (or from what the war become) yet a superior nation to all others and for every other country to speak German and for them to respect the Reich.

  • @007Influence the nazis werent a prominent force till after world war 1 they where laughed at and belittled then the treaty of versailles came and well people started listening

  • @brigeboy95 They didn't even exist untill after WW1 - It was the Treaty of Versailles, the Wall Street crash, The Occupation of the Ruhr and the constant coalition and un-unified political parties that created the NSDWP. The Nazi's weren't laughed at in the slightest - People feared them, Hitler was laughed at by Hindenburg, who didn't understand Hitler and thought that he could be silenced if he was made chancellor - big mistake. Don't forget that Hitler had the SA under his control.

  • Anyone else noticed that Russia wasn't involved?! Tehy were having a civil war of their own to deal with. People weren't happy that they were ruled by an emperor, so they wanted changes...

  • I think a simpler way to put why Britain went to war is that they were trying to maintain the balance of power in Europe. They weren't confident France and Russia could avoid defeat unaided.

  • Because Russia supports Serbia and Austria supports Bosnia and so on... I support Aresnal! Shut up Blinkensop!

  • Comment removed

  • This just helped me so much. Who needS books?

  • This is hilarious and brilliant.

  • man that made my head spin

  • Hase there ever been abattle where 3 separate nations fought who were all anemies? As in a battle where there are 3 separate armies all fighting each other?
