hey my bro has a 400ex with a hot cam,camshaft ,with a 3 stage jet kit, big bore kit ,lowerin kit, lrd full system exhaust ,alluminum heads and top end,light weight piston and a bunch of other stuff and he ran 99.74 mph on a 1/4 mile and out ran a modded banshee..and a rapter 600 with nos

If you get the EX set up with the right power and suspension combo, then it would be a good track machine. Hard to keep up with the 450s though.

@lrdperformance ....With just suspension mods, it wont just be "hard" to keep up...It will be impossible. Just get a 450.

@pNarsurfer i have an 07 bored 426 high compression wiseco forged piston, head shaved to make it 13:1 compression, 450 shocks, 18 inch wheels, houser +2 a arms with 1.5 inch wheel spacers, extended g force axle with extended g force hubs, hmf pipe, amr rev box and coil, fmf jetkit. runs good with 450s

definetly get this exhaust, then take the quiet core/spark arrestor out and its the loudest 400ex you've ever heard. i got a 400ex with this exhaust.

whats the decibal level with and without the quiet core?

On a stock machine, it will read 99-100. A quiet core will lower sound about 3dba. The slip-on is louder due to a shorter muffler.

I just put my on out the box and its is super loud. I just put a jet kit and  k&n filter on and I dont think my air fuel ratio is right

i got the same pipe on my 05 400ex an it got read at 106 dec. they are loud got a great deep sound and add alot of power with my k&n the LRD 416 stahe 2 cam an jet kit with clutch it flys but the lrd was the best thang i got for it thanks for the great pipe

Maybe time to repack the muffler. If the packing has deteriorated, you are also loosing power.

damn, my buddy has one of these and the camera doesnt come close to how it sounds like in real life. the fuckers loud but its the best pipe you can get for them.

Repacking will restore performance and lower sound output. He is loosing power if the packing is not maintained.
