Carrera cars on Scaley track can be tricky. I've got some that run great, and some that just can't stay on well no matter what I do. Of course, the guide blades always need modification to work well on Scaley track.
Note that the Hairpin isn't the tightest radius. The inside of a normal R1 turn is tighter. The hairpin requires the squeeze tracks, which makes the inside lane a little wider than a standard R1. Still, if it works there, it will probably work anywhere.
Ah~ TNX for the info bro. i normally run Carrera track, but i have the Scalex R1 corner & you're rite, with the keel trimmed,Carreras run around it fine. i've had too take my tracks apart, for space, to help a m8 out, till he gets a new gaf, so am missing SlotCar fun at the mo~
Sory 4 L8 reply, i'm on holiday for a while in non internet type areas. Yeah, the car is 1/32'nd scale, but without any skid pan outers on the track i agree, the car looks big. it's a bloody good slot car too. The track is so tight, just due to house reovation + showing that the tuned car will go @ the tightest scalextric corner available-
Carrera slot cars are naturally designed for Carrera track, which is #1 quality big scale track, with no hairPin bends, so this car has a very long guide keel. if the car is then made digital, it can change lane at full speed with the long guide keel. Carrera track is also stainless steel. Scalextric rails are steel which makes the downforce magnets more effective = Too much downforce on a stock Carrera car for Scalextric track. This tuned Carrera car now runs really well on Scalextric track~
