you should have put a feed of beebees on top of the claymore so that gravity d=feed them into the chamber and the gas pushes them out increasing a chance for a hit.

@tozer476 we tried gravity feed, it didn't have the power of a tight bore and no range.

Use some cotton, put it in before the BBs. It will increase the power and make it more powerful.

if you get some straws and get some rubber like gel and coat the inside of the straws with it should be temporarily jammed in the straw allowing the compression to build up ...... it then should be more powerful however keeping the straws in the woodblock and keeping the air from flowing through any gaps on the outside of the straw you will need superglue

I'd make one out of a couple rat traps and some canvas cloth, it'd be quiet, spring loaded, instantly reusable, plus easy to make

yeah that works well too, even bought two rat traps that day to make that. Main reason for compressed gas was because it hurts more and goes further :)

I must get off my arse and try and finish this project. Just no spare time at the moment :(

You could put an O-rng in each of the holes where BBs are ejected, so the pressure will bwe much bigger and the BBs will fy harder and further.

guys to get a really good effect. You have to let the PSI build up on a tank before it goes to the bb launcher. You let the PSI build and as soon as it reachs a pretty good amount, you have a valve that allows you to release on the air at once. That how you would get the BBs to fly like at 400FPS

well we were using 100/150psi, my tank only goes to 200, the whole fitting was 1/2 inch all the way along with a lever type ball valve for super fast dumping. I think we started losing power at some points due to icing, I'll fit my moist trap next time to stop this.

Thank god no, it was looking bad for a while, but thanks to the hard work of many airsofters I believe it's now recognised as a sport, thus the guns get exemption.

thanks, but it's nothing more than a block of 2x4 with a lot of different size holes. The portable air systems going to be the hard part. Hopefully we should have an update in a couple of weeks.

We were thinking of using small co2 air pistol bottles, but the aim of this project was to make it cheap to build and free to reuse. Now we know the best working PSI and a rough volume of air required I think we should be able to power it with a foot pump or bike pump.
