Lennon was a true artist, picky at times to the music he respected, but Manson's sounds like a version worth respecting. One of my fav. all time Lennon songs. Give Marianne Faithful's live version a try, where she changes it to "we're still f**king peasants as far as I can see". I always felt Lennon's was a bit smug, excluding himself from the peasant category.

John Lennon is the original, yes. And Manson did the best cover for me. But I can't say which of them is better. When Lennon sings it - it makes you sad, but there's a littel sign of forgivness in his voice, some hope and faith. When Manson sings i feel his pain - a kind of pain that has ripped you apart and left you cureless - no forgivness, a working class hero means you are doomed - i fell this when I listen to his verson. ANd of course, you could disagree with me, but that's the difference.
