Compared to the video that led me here, these objects seem to be lower than the planes, and going much slower, and the formation was not the same. These objects appear to me to be large balloons, and carried on the wind. The other video was a complete contrast to this one. (see /watch?v=_Vqf0eM39Us), to see what I mean.

I have also seen this exact thing! It was visible to the eye, although extremely dim at night. The lights appeared orange. It went from the southern horizon to over the northern horizon in about 10 seconds, so it was going extremely fast. I will never forget it.

First off: it is a nice group of vids and the one that actually stays in formation is interesting. Second: look up info on trade winds. They go up to 100-300 mph. Migrating birds cruise up there. It IS a possibility. I wasn't there. There is a difference between a vid and actually being there with this amazing equipment. Not every thing in the sky that is weird is ufo.

Notice that this supposed "flock of birds" is flying smoothly and straight at high speeds with no visible signs of wobbling whatsoever. And the formation that they make does seem unusual, if your definition of formation includes any incoherent grouping of objects.

If you freeze it at :14, you can see the star in background shining right through where the body of the "aircraft" should be. If this were a solid object it would have blocked it out but it did not. Based on this I would say it is a flock of birds. Not to mention that the "formation" varies in terms of the distances and proximities between the "lights" again pointing to a flock of birds. If this were a solid object the distances and proximities would remain uniform. These do not.

Supposed to be much more sensitive as they detect ambient IR (not reflected). But they have low resolution and limited speed so thinking that 3rd gen like you have is the way to go.

Have a friend with FLIR and as soon as the sky clears will see if IR from stars etc can be seen. FLIR had video output which is nice.

Apparently there are many ufos (alien and/or human technology) overhead we are not supposed to see....

depends on the color of the birds. if they're dark colored birds, you can make out the shape and details due to the street lights below or moonlight. they fly close enough to the ground that they're easy to spot and identify.

if they're completely white birds in formation, then they will appear white but you can hear them make noises as they fly overhead and they too are easy to distinguish due to the flapping of wings, noises and bird shape

besides a camcorder, you need a night vision device such as goggles/monoculars/binoculars generation 3 and above. maybe gen 2+ but i cannot confirm this since i don't know about gen 2+'s.
