I lived in japan during the summer.... and i must say those towels save lives. Especially in Japanese high school because there is no AC. Good thing i caught onto the "Towel Fashion" or else id be having sweat stains all over. Would be very embarrassing. Anywhooo we like to be clean don't we? :D lol

When I am in America I drive my car everywhere and every building blasts the air conditioning at full speed, so I don't need a towel. But in Japan it is hot, I walk everywhere, and we don't use air conditioning as much. Well, that is my reasoning for carrying a towel with me.

the towel fashion existed since before Edo/Samurai era, wore by construction workers, craftsman, etc, who sweats a lot. Those are called Hachimaki, or Tenugui, and are piece of nylon that is similar to the towel. Well, back in late 80s to 90s, young construction workers wear towel like that(and they are usually badass), so... it may became fashion in recent years? but I feel like I've seen the towel fashion since the day I was born.

I can fully appreciate the towel having gone to Comiket this year, being in a heaving queue (consisting of thousands of people) for two hours in the middle of the baking Japanese summer. I'm surprised you actually haven't made a video about fans and the general heat-battling required for the rather brutally hot summers! (At least, brutal for me, being British and coming from a nice cold country!) The fan was the most essential item I bought while in Japan!
