packet- and 128 bit is only about 20,000 million more. Depending on what time you start cracking, it can take from HOURS to SECONDS, if youre very lucky!

wep is easy tp crack (even for a slow computer) try WPA with aircrack-ng or Airolib-ng and see how slow it goes !!!!!!!!!!!!

You need brute force dictinary attacks for WPA, of course that is slow, unless the password is "aaa" or "love" or something.

bt3 works out of the box on the eee 701?so you dont have to download drivers for the wifi card and shit to get it working?

For the Samsung NC10 you need a screen fix. 1 little file you need to place in the 'modules' folder on your USB stick. Very easy.

Everything else works out of the box(most important: the wifi)

i never had problems using the aircrack tools on the bt3 live cd or on usb. it has modified mad-wifi drivers which should work with all atheros chipsets. but be patient: the eee pc 900 works fine, while the 901 uses a ralink chipset instead of an atheros...

The person in the video is, in fact, using the aircrack suite. Back Track is the linux distro he booted. I would know, i'm an IT Technitian and network security testing IS my job.

No, but aircrack will run on ubuntu, but i've never run it on ubuntu becaue its much easier to load BT3.

BT3 provides all the nessisary drivers and tools in one convienient package.

Backtrack is just a Distro called Slackware(slax) with programs such as Kismet Airplay or Aircrack. There's nearly 40 distros of Linux that can do the same job. I curently usin' Mandrake(mandriva), Fedora Core and Debian distros and in all of them I've installed Sniffers such as Kismet or other programs for cracking Web. That's just info for you guys.

the wifi card in the 700 works fine for backtrack 3 and by the way i did trade the 701 back to the 900 coz backtrack 3 kept screwing me around it saved all my settings for like a week then it lost them all i dont know why

i just traded my eee pc 900 for my old 700 with my mait and just installed backtrack 3 to the c: drive it saves changes aswell sept i swear to god the bootup time is killing me i changed the lilo.cfg and idk wtf is making it so slow btw i also set the cpu to 900ghz at bootup still slower then a 3 leggerd turtle
