Well, I'd like to see Ronan and Fernando competing again after 10 years of training. Ronan training at US and Fernando training here in Brasil. Cheers from Brasil mate.
@lucastudela That would be great! Ronan is 13 and about 118 lbs. Is Fernando somewhere in that range? Is he ever in this area? Ronan is training in wrestling, BJJ, kickboxing and MMA about 15 hours a week. Very motivated. It's so funny to look back at this match, how slow and careful they were. Where in Brazil is he training?
@TheJeffersonpimp Kids can get hurt , but these events are run by professionals so im sure the kids will be safe , i started fighting when i was 5 , we did armbars then , and i have never broke a bone ( from a submission )
why you think that is a silly question is beyond me. they barely look the age of 10. arm bars should not be allowed. Being kids they can really hurt someone. That's why there are age limits for such things. Should leave it to pins and hold downs.
Why when i was in judo. chokes, strangles, and arm bars were not allowed, and thats how it should be. This video shows pure stupidity. What is this just some local tournaments. Get some proper licenses, judges and rules.
That is awesome. I'm 51 also.....and thinking about it. How far have you progressed? How is your conditioning relative to all those tough, young guys?
@ivan8149 He had just turned 9 when he competed in this tournament. He had been doing BJJ for about 3 months. Now he is 12 and is still training and competeing. Maybe you are better than he, but I doubt it. In over 100 fights, he has only lost a handfull of times in his weight class. Keep training and competeing, maybe you two will compete one day.
@SERB98 Wouldn't matter about who's better or not.. nobody can tell the future and you never know what could happen in a fight or ground fight... just saying, not acting up.
Very impressiver little man. Ur dad seems to connect withuwell while ur out there, make sure u listen to him, becaus he can see possible oenings that u may not. Remember if u would like to further your use of grappling technique, there is always a home for you at the Alcatraz Elite Subbmission systems.
Awesome.

He actually listens while he's grappling. that's something a lot of fighters can't do. This kid could be really good when he's older.
