Some claim that it's because of the wake turbulence caused by a plane landed prior to the approach of this aircraft, therefore suggesting a fault of the ATC at Schiphol. However, Dutch investigators say that it's because of a faulty altimeter. Since the command was on the autopilot and the autopilot moved engines to idle position, the aircraft stalled. It was too late for the pilots to realise this because of the low level clouds.

9/11 is not the biggest Air crash.Its a terrorist attack.Thats not treated as Air crash.The crash was on Los Rodeaos , Tenerife when 2 fully loaded Jumbo jets collided on the runway in thick fog.More thab 500 people were killed.

it was but it is nothing to do with the airliner, it was the manufacturer's fault (a catastrophic error on cargo door) and after the crash all DC-10's grounded and modified to correct that fault.

Never will put my feet on Turkish Hava Yollari.. They already had the worst record of any "major" airline of "Europe". I am extremely sorry about the lost souls but luckily it did not end up in other Biljmer catastrophy.. Last thank for pilots if they avoided any of such. Keep flying in the blue sky!

turkish airlines had 2 accident at last 10 years and they make 500.000 flight in a year. 2 crash at 5.000.000 flight and at first it was rj-100s fault and on this it seems that stongest reason is fault of tower

Ok, I quess they are trying to improve. However accident rates are calculated including fatal events since 1970 and THY´s accident rate is more than double of second worst in Europe (Olympic). Actually, there aren´t many other airlines in world in its size class or bigger, that rate as badly as you can see from airsafe´s website. Moreover, there was evidently nothing wrong with RJ100, it was pilot error and weather related and for this latest, I quess it is too early to make any conclusions.

The pilot who died in this crash flied a falcon for years... The cause of the crash was a vortex not a system failure! a system failure doesnt cause the engines to break off!! only a vortex is strong enough to do this! and if u dun know what vortex is go search it and stop chatting shit please!
