If I was the violin player sitting behind her at 1:17 I dont think could have kept it together. I would have ben a blubbering idiot at the sheer beauty of that pianissimo of hers. He looked up though. LOL
This is the closest someone has come to the absolute best (for me)interpretation that ive heard, she has the same intensity, but not quite the same, what i call light and shade. The recording was a " Puccini Weekend" and the soprano was Maria Chiarra, but this is also very very good.
she's still the only soprano I've heard that pays attention to the pp on the first high note. Even Tebaldi and Callas don't (or can't) bring it back far enough.
@MorMar001 Things aren't always as they seen. Could you refer me to any concerts where they are singing Mimi with the score. I'd be forever grateful! :-)
Tudo bem. Todo mundo sabe a letra de cor.
wow just listen to the response she receives at the end... and her facial expression at the end... it just shows her warm and pleasant personality... a true diva indeed!!!!
Fiel al texto y a la trama escénica...un verdadero ejemplo.

I feel as if she pulls you into a more beautiful and gentle world at 1:17 - 1:25. Her musicality is astonishing...there's no two ways about it.

Il love the expression of her face at 3:18, so genuine.
Why did the director (or cameraman?) decide to show us the ceiling exactly at the climax of the aria??

The only thing that bugs be with Caballe is that she's intonating too low.. plenty of times.. in general..

She is a master at voice control and phrasing in this aria. She is neck n' neck with Callas

Indeed, she is remarkable. I love how she lifts up her hands every time she sings.

She is almost as good as Tebaldi, voice a bit heavy,
but otherwise ok.
