Most tao players spend a lot of time in the air and confusing the opponent. She's not really supposed to be the kind of character that can stand her ground.

well, i have a question ... how badly does 4 frames of lag affect tao's game ... like honestly .. does it make some combos impossible or how does the 4 frames of lag play out... like each time you do a motion for example... if i try 4bc->236c->5b->5c->2d~6->c->9d~6->c how badly would that effect that combo ... speaking if it's done perfectly from the start
It really depends on the lag, and your skill. Remember, if there's alot of lag, you HAVE TO GO MY MUSCLE MEMORY. You can't go by visual cues on the tv because the inputs are behind, so you have to memorize the whole combo. That combo is pretty simple to do except for the timing after 236C, since its charged, you have to time the 5b after VERY well, or else its going to crap.
Other time frame needy combo's like most taunt combo's require a heavenly amout of skill with lag. :P
that combo's pretty easy to do online. when you get to the more advanced stuff that you see these two try to do (and drop over and over again) that it really starts to become apparent.
for instance, taunt combos, which neither of these two are even attempting to do, are darn near impossible to use online unless you magically find someone with the mythical green latency bar, which i have yet to see.
...or you can be like me and randomly c cancel out of your drive loop either from lag or fail.

But yes, as your response to someone else earlier, Tritaga, the Tao Drive spammers definitely get raped.
I'm quite impressed - those were some unorthodox combos to counter the lag inputs. And - to top it off - I'm amazed that Taosis is able to pull off some of those combos and IB online. Doing 5 frame links, tech traps and instant blocking - with 4 frames of lag - is really pushing it, but he pulls it off quite well.
Both players have excellent spacing and high mix up pressure. For an American scene, that's - by far - one of the most solid Tao mirror matches I've seen.
great match though. i have got a couple of matches recorded of me and taosis playing ... that guy is the truth .... awesome tao player but even he has said the online play with tao is pretty bad even with the bestt connection
