I used to have a 93 prelude with a h22 swap and all the bolt ons, I sold it to my friend and bought a 00' jetta vr6, and when we raced the jetta pulled off the line but when the vtec kicked in on the prelude it pulled on me. I mean honda's can kick some if they are done right and not riced out. I will post a vid soon of us both racing...

I wouldnt say that at all, probably the opposite, the vr6 is a way better engine than the h22. Its way way more innovative and its capable of a way way higher output. newer vr6s come 295 hp stock.
i think he meant 205 because no vr6 is factory tuned that high i thinkl the 3.8 vr6 on the newer passat is more like 280, but its not tuned to be a racer more of a luxury car than anything.
its a fair race for sure look at the weight of your honda, and the weight of the VR6... its a small 6 cylinder, its not like a 4.0, its just a 2.8... fair race
you have to remember that the vr6 is not their souped up engine, its the daily commute engine with a smoother more linear acceleration, it only happens to be quick. this can be proven by comparing it to the 2.9 vr6 they put in the corrados that went 0-60 in about 6.5 seconds which was their race inspired version of the vr6 other than the r32

My completely STOCK VR6 eats ALL 200 horsepower Hondas, because they HAVE NO TORQUE, I have to feather the throttle during launch just to give them a fair race or else I'm gone and they never catch up. I had to race 4 RSX Type S' when I was at UTI just to shut all the ricers up. Had to replace 3 tires because of it too, couldn't take the loss so they punctured my tires while I was in class, pussy bastards...I wish I could have been there when they did it. I HATE RICERS!!

That's where the difference is, not only better for racing (you're not dropping the clutch in your rpm powerband...) but ALSO good for just every day driveability. I don't need to downshift to get onto the highway quicker, just keep it in 6th and a little throttle and I'm off. My old Accord I would always have to go into 4th and even then it felt like eternity before I got any acceleration. Made lots of noise though!
honda is not the best, if i had to say which japanese car company was the best it would be toyota. But most hondas are just good for saving gas. If they posted races on one tank of gas going the speed limit to see who went the farthest you would see more hondas winning.....
