I like what you're doing, but you also tend to cloud the issue. Coming out of the last ice age, eustatic sea-level rose by over 120m. Humans did not cause this, this is a naturally occuring phenomenon. Are you also concerned about the much larger, more significant natural variations our planet can throw at us? If utilize scare projections to get people to change behavior, should we not also use them to propose a complete human dominance of climate, and control it on a global scale?
the orbital changes that take us into and out of ice ages act on the scale of thousands of years, as opposed to a century or two like we are doing now.
There are no orbital effects currently warming the planet - see
watch?v=L2m9SNzxJJA
All things being equal - we would not need to be concerned about orbital effects for some 20,000 or so years, at least, in the future.
So, No.
I'm not also concerned about those effects for right now.
One of the foremost experts on sea level -with 35 years experience (Dr Nils-Axel Mörner) has done extensive research into the claim that sea levels are or will rise dangerously.
His research has centered on the low-lying Maldives. simply put;
He says that the IPCC's catastrophic claims (WRE 450 to WRE1000) are "NONSENSE".
His research shows that by 2100 we can expect the sea level to change between NOTHING and +20cm. Most likely being 10cm (4")
i don't think climate scientists have any real understanding of this dynamic and complex nature of the weather on this planet and can predict with any certainty what will happen if this or that happens as for co2 being a all powerful greenhouse gas i don't think so its only 380 parts per million and to stop or limit co2 at the expense of our economy and jobs i think is premature ok invent fusion power generation thats great but this scare mongering that the sea is going to rise is fucking wrong
Great video for me the problem is desire and materialism all artificial constructs of mind dogma we can live with less.. have more community...more health ..and time with family
It's disturbing how strong the public perception is that climate change is a big hoax invented by scientists. Very disturbing. Because by the time climate change becomes bad enough to convince the average denier, it will be too late to do anything about it.
Dude;you rock. It makes my day/week when your posts appear on Democratic Underground. With everything else going on I sometimes forget to check your site for a new one. I sat in on an IPCC lecture a few years ago in conjunction with my education in Ecology, my major. It was an eye opening and scary moment to say the least. I wish everyone could sit through one of the lectures and be able to participate in the Q&A.
@mographzach thats the trouble with alarmist types your a bunch of arrogant arseholes who can't and wont explain or debate maybe your not so smart maybe your a dumb fuck who believes in bullshit ever thought of that you dickhead
i heard that 40%of perment ice has already melted from the poles so why has the sea not risen i live near the sea i can tell you it hasn't risen at all so does that mean your full of shit because in my mind it sort of does
You're talking about sea ice, which is floating on the water and does not raise sea level when it melts - much as the ice in your coke won't make the glass overflow when it melts.
Land based ice like Greenland and Antarctica is where the sea level will come from.
Don't feel bad, I have to explain this to second graders when I go into schools, too.
@MegaQueenLee Yeah, the fake scandal created by Fox News where they kept repeating the same 2 quotes over and over and over? Yeah, I've heard of it. Ever heard of the EIA, NASA, NOAA, MIT, Stanford, and nearly every peer-reviewed paper on climate change? That's a tough nut to crack buddy-o.
@MegaQueenLee Sea levels rose by 1 foot in the past century, not many people dispute this fact. So now we've established that you're a liar. Anything else?
@greenman3610 You lot need to be stopped and stopped now before idiots like youself do irreparable damage to our environment. Geoengineering of the stratosphere to cool a Planet that is already cooling is lunacy, talk about giving children guns!! Your facts are based on computer models not reality, and if you got off your fat arse and checked the real facts you will find that everything is pointing to deep and abrupt COOLING.
@david222444 The sun wouldn't melt anything if we didn't have an atmosphere. An atmosphere rich in CO2 will have a much larger greenhouse effect allowing the sun to heat the planet up a lot more. This is why Mercury, the closest plant to the sun, has a cooler surface temperature then Venus, the second closest planet. Same reason why the Moon is a lot colder then Earth.
Do you still not get it? CO2 is a greenhouse gas and high concentrations in an atmosphere will greatly increase temperatures.
@david222444 No, do you still not get it. Trust me, you're in no position to be telling people anything about climate change because clearly your understanding of the issue is on-par with that of a 3rd grader.
Sun is our biggest source of heat and energy on the planet. Greenhouse gases like CO2 keep the sun's heat energy on the planet. When we pump more CO2 into the atmosphere by burning fossil-fuels, the planet heats up. That's why the arctic summer ice is melting faster.
if the world is hotter wouldnt the volume of clouds increase from evaporation? sorry if it sounds like i have no idea what im talking about im no scientist >.<
if the world is hotter wouldnt the volume of clouds increase from evaporation? sorry if it sounds like i have no idea what im talking about im no scientist >.<
Carbon tax is a disgusting crime against Humanity. CO2 whether man-made or otherwise doesn't drive global climate, it never has, it never will, the Sun does...
Greenland ,,OOOh those old Norse explorers had such an Ironic sense of humour. Naming a big glacier clad piece of land that is clearly frozen and not green Greenland? The Earth will warm and cool without man. It has for thousands of years. Paging Chicken Little!
@MrKilroi You realize the Norse call it Grønland, and it's only in the English language that it is called Greenland, because green sounds similar to Grøn.
@dave19941000 Funny when you translate Grønland from both Danish and Samiske (which is old Norse) it happens to translate exactly as Greenland nice try but the fail is great in you. Oh did I mention Me grandmother was Norwegian and spoke Samiske....
There is a quick simple solution to global warming and climate change. It is called Muon Catalysed Fusion. As worked on Star Scientific. NO CO2. NO Greenhouse Gases. NO Toxic Waste. The source is dueterium from the World's Oceans - virtually limitless. It is cheap to produce. WE NEED IT NOW. See the website "Star Scientific Limited", Blog "The Big Picture by Andrew Horvath", Youtube video - "In the Footsteps of Fusion"
How do we know that Meltwater Pulse 1A wasn't caused by the artic ice sheets melting due to global warming and then new ice sheets forming due to followed global cooling? How do we know this cycle isn't just repeating?
The orbital cycle of the planet has been observed very carefully by satellite and other instruments, and their is no warming cycle currently in effect.
the concern is that the melting is increasing. 10 years ago the third IPCC predicted Antarctica would continue to gain mass for 100 years, instead it is losing, and at an increasing rate.
History indicates in the paleo record that the current co2 levels will very likely lead to much higher rises, and that rises in the past have accelerated quickly to meters per century, or even per decade.
@judomagyar No, as in stats don't count when all whole section of Antarctica breaks off and would be partially submerged in water instead of on bedrock. It already happened with a western peninsula and they expect the next big one (1-5 years) to change the world as we know it.
@judomagyar This whole statement is a fraction of the real story of what humans have kick started. Look into every biological, ecological and political matter on the subject and maybe you might have a FRACTION of the knowledge of present.
Hi all, just trying to spread the word about a new community site we're putting together based around our planet - earth-forums (dot) com. Take a look if you'd like!
@mookixox Telling someone that if they hit their self in the head with a hammer will give them a concussion is simply fear mongering. Putting a mangled car on display near a high school because it got that way from a young girl texting and driving is fear mongering. All I see here is a simple statement of cause and effect. You can label it fear mongering all you want, but the facts speak for themselves whether you want to believe them or not.
But it's ok because the human race and politicians and the apes that post on here to deny this are on the case so no worries at all !!!!! does any1 fancy a whiskey ????
Please cite anyplace where I, or for that matter, the IPCC, the National Academy, the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Society, NASA, or the US Navy, has ever cited Al Gore as an authority.
You can't, of course, because the case is science based, not personality based.
Climate Denier deductive reasoning: " I hate Al Gore. there fore, there is no climate Change"
@guystoners he is not the 'spokesman', except perhaps self-appointed. Trying to discredit decades of peer-reviewed science from thousands of scientists by discrediting Al Gore is like trying to discredit gravity by making fun of Liberace. There is no scientific connection.
Amazing how many idiots deny Climate Change and man's involvement. They should write a letter to their great-great grandchildren and put it in a safe, or the family bible, for their decendants to read. I'm thinking they will be regarded as the fools of the family.
The only developed, industrialized, nation on the entire planet where the majority believe in Creationism and dispute Climate Change.
Wouldn't fekking matter if USSA wasn't the world's biggest consumer of energy and polluter, (but China's shooting for that honour), but since it is, the Country of The Ignorant is doing it's damnedest to dooming the rest of us......
What type of Bolshevic tax plot is this? Tell us how many cars and jetliners were in active service 14,000 years ago to contribute to 'Meltwater 1A' LOL. While you're at it, tell us why we should listen to an elitest shill like Al Gore (you know, the same stiff that promised Americans no jobs would be lost under NAFTA over a decade ago). BTW enlighten your viewers how Ken Lay of ENRON fame wanted a peice of the climategate pie before that house of cards came crashing down? This should be fun...
That's a rather silly thing to say, and reflects a lack of knowledge. Suggest you do a little reading on Milankovitch cycles and come back. Not aware of what Al Gore's political positions have to do with planetary climate.
@greenman3610 The fact that Al Gore has already lied to Americans in the past is a testament to his credibility (if that concept sinks in with you) and has invested in the companies that will tax the shit out of us over climate change, I would tend to differ...That's my problem, I'm simply too educated to fall for this nonsense. And I don't think he invented the internet either (sorry to break it to you).
Your problem is that you are too arrogant to remedy your own ignorance. Your comment above indicates you have not the slightest clue as to what the forcings of glacial periods were. You seem also unaware that companies to not tax us, congress does. And you repeat a nonsense canard about the internet. This is a sorry indicator of the failure of your education.
I think you'd be much more comfortable at Glenn Beck's site, or some Tea party jackass message board.
@greenman3610 "companies to not tax us, congress does" And who owns congress? Take your pick, Big Oil, Pharmaceutical, Tobacco, Military Industrials, Banking Institutions and the like all have a heavy ownership of that Govt pie. It's sad to see someone still clinging (or pretending?) to the notion that the biggest corporations on earth don't determine Govt policy...2 unwinnable wars, Trillions in Banking and Automotive bailouts and a recent BP oilspill should have slapped that into you by now.
@greenman3610 Hey I love the environment too, I hate Exxon and Bp and the rest of them, I want renewable energy sources as bad as anyone else does, But letting these jackholes TAX every breath of air we take is not the way to do it. It will give them more power over us. Its all about control. The pentagon cant account for TRILLIONS of tax payer dollars, it all goes into black ops programs this isn't wing bat conspiracy to ASK where that money is going...and how it fits into the 'green movement'?
@resteep It's all about control, if you have enough faith in the corporations that OWN our political representatives to not find a way to tax us for breathing air (one day) then you are a fool, or purely ignorant. For your own sake I hope it's ignorance for that can be changed with research. These ppl are not on our side.
@mookixox That's funny (in a darkly ironic way), since it is the 'corporations' who are spending millions on disinfo campaigns convincing people that a tax on carbon emissions is somehow going to 'tax the air we breath'. And then people like you just eat it up without any critical thought. I bet you believe the FoxNews crap that's thoroughly debunked in this video, too. You're corporate tool.
@resteep You're always going to have a side of wealthy business owners with deep pockets who don't want to raise the cost of production but my point still stands. If the controlling elites really wanted green energy we would have green energy, but we don't have it because it's not about the planet, it's about control over us. The Pentagon cannot account for TRILLIONS of tax payer dollars, this missing money is going somewhere and it ties into the climate change agenda.
@mookixox So these 'ruling elites' are creating decades of peer reviewed science from thousands of different scientists around the globe and melting glaciers all so they can 'tax the air we breath'?
@resteep You mean the same 'science' that told pregnant women smoking cigarettes was no dangerous then driving a car? Scientists can be bought and paid for like cheap whores. But hey, if you want to shit your pants thinking melting glaciers is gonna turn the planet into something from 'water world' good luck with that LOL.
@mookixox No one is claiming all land will disappear. That's your strawman. But it's noteworthy that you think science in general is a fraud. What next, debunking gravity by mocking fat people?
@resteep Hey speaking of fat people, I think a giant climate change movement spear headed by AlGore should be the first sign of about a million red flags. An elitist who's family made a fortune producing cancer sticks, lied about inventing the internet and lied about no jobs being lost from the NAFTA proceedings. Have fun falling off that cliff your marching towards (I used to be in that lemming run once too before doing some research).
@greenman3610 That's simply not true, I'm presenting the fact this elitist has lied to the American people, why would you trust him? It boils down to credibility, this multi millionaire isn't on your side. His family made a fortune selling cancer sticks to people. He is pushing an agenda that will give his family more control over society then you could dream of. Where did the missing 2+ Trillion from the Pentagon go?...start asking questions.
@greenman3610 Yeah if exposing a lier is 'nuthin' sure, your debating skills are truly uncanny! Your messiah didn't invent the internet and NAFTA lost 1000's of american jobs.
@mookixox attacking AL Gore and 'fat people' in an attempt to discredit decades of peer reviewed science from tens of thousands fo scientists around the globe only highlights how little you understand the subject.
You might as well try and discredit gravity by calling Newton a homosexual.
@resteep I'm not discrediting the scientific findings (although the climate gate emails sure do help) so much as I'm telling people there is an agenda being pushed under the premise of cleaning the earth. Weather records are still in an infancy, not to mention the land locked ice has been melting for decades and the water levels haven't exactly flooded my house yet...Al Gore didn't invent the internet and he lied when he ensured NAFTA wouldn't cost 1000's of american jobs.
@mookixox The 'climate gate' emails IN NO WAY 'discredit' decades of science. The fact that you think they do only shows how little you understand the situation. Taking a handful of emails from tens of thousands, and then carefully editing out a few phrases is not factual. Then you make fun of Al Gore, again this is not taking on the science. Lastly, you question carbon credits--also not related to the raw data WHATSOEVER. You failed science, didn't you?
@resteep I'm not making fun of your messiah Al Gore, I'm presenting the facts he's a lier and I think the public should question his intentions (and his meetings with ENRON corp). As for the science, this planet had weather for Billions of yrs, I think its a stretch to take infantile data and claim it as the be all end all of man made climate change. The sun is also getting hotter (from our infantile date) as well as some other planets. And california residents arent drowning from melting ice.
@resteep I don't need off-topics to handle you, apparently you need them to take me on tho. So how about them Giant Glaciers that melted and created all our lakes and streams, how many cars did americans drive to melt them suckers? I think pretending that scientific data has the earths weather patterns pegged is a stretch at best and laughable at worst. Oh yeah, and the small matter of the sun getting hotter also helps. Hope your puppy makes a full recovery!
@greenman3610 This Al Gore is certainly a man worth trusting >> watch?v=GhwhMXOxHTg
I went to that 'snopes' website but I'm sorry I can't take seriously a website that looks like it was created by a pre-school student (back in 1990). Do you honestly believe that a planet with Billions of years worth of EXTREME weather changes can accurately be pegged by todays scientists? And even if you believe it can. do you honestly believe that their AREN'T elites who are hijacking this 'green movement'?
@resteep Call me when you have more then 1000 years of scientific weather data for a planet that has been having severe weather shifts billions of years before man was around (and will continue to for a Billion years when he is gone)...Now go inside before the acid rain melts you to death! Don't forget to bring in the polar bears and your puppy that I attacked 4 posts ago...
@resteep I want a green sustainable planet too I'm just not going to fear monger about acid rain burning our face off and melting glaciers flooding the Statue of Liberty (like in this video) to make it happen. Sorry tool.
You are probably aware about the Rockaway Penisula in Queens, NY and barriers islands on Long Island like Jones Beach and Fire Island. Based on what you believe, by what year will they be completely underwater?
Funny how there's no mention of chemtrails by people like greenman3610.
I will wager that greenman3610 will tell us that chemtrails don't exist, even though they've been documented for the last 40 years and people like myself have experienced them first hand as well as taken photographs of them.
I've also had the unfortunate experience of BREATHING chemtrails, it's a very real situation.
So why aren't we simply turning this industrial pollution into baking soda, it's quite an easy process.
Our planet has a natural process for dealing with CO2.
But the batteries we throw away?
The solvents we produce?
Decaying paper, plastic, metals?
1 gallon of motor oil contaminates 250,000 gallons of water.
A gallon of solvent based paint, acetone, arsenic, sodium fluoride.
These are the real enemies of the environment, the CO2 threat is a complete and total lie! Work on increasing intelligence, not "education" and how well "informed" you are.
@JonDeth Noone says CO2 is a pollutant, but it has properties that can be bad for us in too high concentrations like now. It's been known since the 19th century by work from, among others, our swedish scientist Svante Arrhenius.
USA has a lot of money, yes. That's a big reason why USA is so much against taking action against climate change. It's not in the best interest of your country or the World however.
@USAneedsaChange we have a Republic but unfortunately, we have an acting democracy which means it's literally a corporate business empowered by the people to act on our behalf. With a small populous, this can work great but with one so massive, it's pure corruption.
These people work purely based on the way the results look on data sheets, not based on the satisfaction of the people.
In America, the biggest producers of methane are the dairy cows kept indoors.
@USAneedsaChange also keep in mind that China is the biggest polluter on the planet but again, America gets blamed for being their biggest customer. Keep in mind this mindset about the atmosphere is one handed out by the United Nations. We indeed have a 1 world government and nobody seems to understand this.
Based on the findings of a lot of credible people, the rise in CO2 has been static for centuries, there has been no sudden massive increase. They want more power over us, that's all.
@JonDeth don't understand where you get your "facts" from... The concentrations of CO2 are the highest they've been in a loooong time.
China has recently passed you, but you're still a big pollutant and very important. You're the biggest western country. The UN is good even though Americans often protest it. No, not a one world governmnet.
The scientists are for the most part very serious and concerned about this issue. I doubt that you question other scientists this much.
@USAneedsaChange the rate at which CO2 has been rising however has not changed. So for example what was accelerating at a rate of 10% 300 years ago before the man made pollutants of today, is still accelerating at the rate of 10% today after the birth of the industrial revolution!
So man didn't come along with technology and suddenly turn that 10% into 40%, they're LYING. The CO2 levels are exactly what they should be based on the natural acceleration of the environment.
@JonDeth OK, so why do I find this link "UCLA Researcher Finds CO2 at Highest Levels in 15 Million Years"? I just give you the headline because I don't think we can link here. Google it.
@USAneedsaChange When you are constantly adding to the pile on a daily basis, obviously the level will be "An all time record high!" the next day. And the next and the next and the next.
But these are the people that tell you C14 dating is reliable then a scientist at UCLA tests some skin of a dolphin with C14 dating and it tells him that dolphin is 1 million years old.
Point is, they don't know what the levels were 15 million years ago.
The science indeed says they were HIGHER however.....
@JonDeth I don't think you understand science to be honest. "By analyzing the chemistry of bubbles of ancient air trapped in Antarctic ice, scientists have been able to determine the composition of Earth's atmosphere going back as far as 800,000 years, and they have developed a good understanding of how carbon dioxide levels have varied in the atmosphere since that time. But there has been little agreement before this study on how to reconstruct carbon dioxide levels prior to 800,000 years ago."
@USAneedsaChange I do understand it perfectly well and the fact that there is overwhelming evidence showing that this ice isnt STATIC. It retracts and expands, it thaws and refreezes. It literally tumbles and is constantly under change. They will tell you core samples yield this information but what they DON'T like you finding out is how sometimes these core samples claimed to be from ice 10 million years old, contain pieces of garbage like a tin can from the 1940's.
this also accounts for the higher oxygen levels and much larger plant and animal life. With the environment being so harsh at the time, the CO2 levels were high and plants absorbing more CO2 get MASSIVE. They also produce far more oxygen which turns to ozone.
With much greater level of oxygen in the air, mammals and other air breathing life forms also got much larger.
These are the facts they aren't telling you. It's one huge lie spread by propagandists for $ and scientists living off grants
@JonDeth So we have not learned of dinosaurs?? well, I have... First you said that there were higher CO2-levels, then higher O-levels(oxygen)... The reason they grew so big was likely not because of higer O-levels. Probably had more to do with the available food and the climate(warm and stable climate can give great development like in our rainforests)
That's right kids, rocks are primarily made of silica and carbon. So when a rock is on fire, as it is in a volcano, carbon in it's most concentrated form is being burned and released into the atmosphere. This is what makes are CO2 production negligible. We're being lied to because these people view US as a source of THEIR fuel, FINANCE.
A public riddled with guilt and worry does what it's told.
You have the right to say no and fend them off but how often do you do it?
Environmental Alarmists will always have something to worry about. The globe can only warm, cool, or stay the same. We saw the hysterics when they thought the globe was cooling. We see the hysterics when the globe is warming. If we had global stasis the alarmists would be decrying the terrible state of climate non-change.
@PissedFechtmeister a woman in the US recently told me that she heard of global warming back in -72 and learned of an electric car(that wasn't so good, but still). And the first Earth day was around that time. So USA knew of this fairly early(think decades before the 70s even). Too bad big companies and republicans have worked against taking action since then since USA is so important...
This video is rich. Greenman3610 admits that we don't know what caused the "rapid dynamical change in ice flow" 14K years ago. It may or may not have anything to do with global warming. If it happens in the near future and we see the sea levels rise by 20 feet, it may or may not have anything to do with global warming. The attempt to link it to CO2 production is nothing short of fear mongering. That's about what I expect from Global Warming Hystericists.
@PissedFechtmeister Fear mongering based on the best science... there's a difference in saying what can happen and what will happen... Apparently you think we should ignore the scientists from all over the World... Apparently you are willing to risk the future of this planet because you don't want to pay more for gasoline or w/e. OK...
relocations of modern communities to the higher grounds will be highly recommended before these catasthropies will take place as the global climate change and the sea levels rise.
so if I suggested continental drift was wrong and the environmental events that caused the dividing of the land mass were no longer applicable to what is occurring, I'd like to hear what you have to say even though I know you would snub me and have a snide response.
But continental drift can't be proven, it can't even be measured accurately.
So what is the alternative?
Erosion, an absolute fact that can be accurately measured.
The continents aren't drifting apart, they're merely losing mass.
Man Made god, Not, god Made Man - I am amazed at the numerous species of "Nuts" and the way they reproduce; ie. Peanuts, Hazelnuts, Walnuts and the likes of JonDeth and ttowntom, all in hopes that the see reality before "Reproducing..."
@stevethul1 no it's time for you to put a muzzle on that snide arrogance and blatant display of ignorance. You aren't educated on the subject, you are INFORMED. Further more, this information has not been produced through your own studies, testing data or understanding of the science used to both collect and analyze this information.
So you are going to make such a rude, arrogant statement to me when you can't even grasp the difference between educated and informed?
@stevethul1 maybe we should start praying to volcanoes then?
Do some research, they produce majority of the CO2 into the atmosphere. So much so that what we produce is literally less than negligible.
Then consider the loss of rain forest and low RF devices like HAARP. At best, we're manipulating natural occurrences. According to 30,000 unbiased scientists vs maybe a couple hundred employed by the corporate government, CO2 levels are not increasing at a multiplied rate compared to 100 years ago
@JonDeth that's not true. We produce more CO2 than volcanoes do. Those were not 30,000 unbiased scientists. We hardly even know who those 30,000 signatories were. About 30 claimed to be climate scientists I believe of those 30,000. Perhaps you noticed that they didn't go through with their BS "lawsuit"? Because there never was one! It was fake just like that paper they used to get signatures... There are thousands of scientists and teachers all over the world who supports GW.
@USAneedsaChange it is true and Al Gore has pretty much become a whipping boy since so many elected representatives working in government started challenging him and commissioning further investigations. It's an absolute fact that nature produces majority of the CO2 in our atmosphere
This nation has always had unmeasurable populations of grazing cattle releasing methane. With so many of our bovines living in indoors, we could easily scrub the air clean of the methane they produce
@JonDeth nature now? You wrote that volcanoes produce the majority of the CO2 "into" the atmosphere which is not true. All of nature produce more CO2 than us humans though. But nature also takes up almost all of that CO2 itself, it is accounted for, it's in balance. We, however throw this balance off course by our activities.
I have not seen a way to "scrub the air clean of the methane", but if possible, that's great. Make it happen! Time is of the essence here.
@USAneedsaChange you really aren't anywhere near as intelligent as you are asserting by challenging me. In a closed air environment, the methane can be burned off through a filtration system and the emissions collected for proper disposal. These systems already exist. It's literally just a matter of cycling the air through a low temp burner.
You don't seem to grasp the fact that these people are LIARS.
They lie about everything. You think we have a Democracy? NO, we have a republic.
@JonDeth I have not known of that process, but it's good news. However, cows are often let outside for a better quality of life, at least in my country(Sweden), which is good. Also the sh*t they produce inside is often stored in pretty huge heaps outside I think for obvious reasons. And it's the farmers who decide over this, not the scientists.
Scientists don't lie very often. You have a republic, I live in a democracy :-) See? USA needs a Change ;-P
@USAneedsaChange further more, it's in their best interest to lie. They create more corporate democratic statutes and trick us into giving up more of our freedom and money. Countless geologists and vulcanologist will challenge all the environmentalist scientists to no end.
One bellow from a volcano produces more CO2 than the entire human population can create in a YEAR.
But you believe what you like. Cow farts and burnt fuels produce more waste than BURNING carbon rock and soil. wtf.........
It's essentially the same technique the Egyptians used.

A scientist, Doug Lord working for the NSW government here in Australia did extensive research on sea levels in Sydney.
He is a warmist, and naturally was looking for acceleration in the sea level rise, to confirm his suspicions about AGW.
Instead, he found a deceleration in the rise. His research shows 100mm rise in the 20th century, and predicts 70mm for the 21st.
(NSW govt policy is in line with IPCC; 890mm)
He was sacked by the NSW govt for producing science "against the public interest".
Besetho 3 weeks ago
@Besetho
I see. he looked at some points around Sydney, and extrapolated to the whole ocean?
probably good they sacked him.
greenman3610 3 weeks ago
@greenman3610
Thought you would agree with the NSW government.
His offense was to use the scientific method, and then report his findings.
This is now almost a capital offense here in Australia.
He was sacked, and his co-author warned (he also works for the NSW govt)
Their paper was also pulled just before publication (it had already passed peer review)
Besetho 3 weeks ago
@Besetho ; Okay, I give up. What the bloody anal fuck is a "warmist?"

SchrodingersEconomy 3 weeks ago
@SchrodingersEconomy
the orbital changes that take us into and out of ice ages act on the scale of thousands of years, as opposed to a century or two like we are doing now.
There are no orbital effects currently warming the planet - see
watch?v=L2m9SNzxJJA
All things being equal - we would not need to be concerned about orbital effects for some 20,000 or so years, at least, in the future.
So, No.
I'm not also concerned about those effects for right now.
greenman3610 3 weeks ago
Another disater scenario.
Again mostly nonsense.
One of the foremost experts on sea level -with 35 years experience (Dr Nils-Axel Mörner) has done extensive research into the claim that sea levels are or will rise dangerously.
His research has centered on the low-lying Maldives. simply put;
He says that the IPCC's catastrophic claims (WRE 450 to WRE1000) are "NONSENSE".
His research shows that by 2100 we can expect the sea level to change between NOTHING and +20cm. Most likely being 10cm (4")

greenman3610 3 weeks ago
@greenman3610
Unfortunately it is not only Morner who is saying this.
Two scientists working for the NSW government here in Australia did extensive research on sea levels in Sydney.
They are both warmists, and naturally were looking for an accelleration in the sea level rise, to confirm their suspicians about AGW.
Instead, they found a decelleration in the rise. Their research shows 100mm rise in the 20th century, and predict 70mm for the 21st.
They were sacked by the NSW govt.

i don't think climate scientists have any real understanding of this dynamic and complex nature of the weather on this planet and can predict with any certainty what will happen if this or that happens as for co2 being a all powerful greenhouse gas i don't think so its only 380 parts per million and to stop or limit co2 at the expense of our economy and jobs i think is premature ok invent fusion power generation thats great but this scare mongering that the sea is going to rise is fucking wrong

You're talking about sea ice, which is floating on the water and does not raise sea level when it melts - much as the ice in your coke won't make the glass overflow when it melts.
Land based ice like Greenland and Antarctica is where the sea level will come from.

Sarah Raper of the Climate Research Unit (CRU) has done work on this for the IPCC.
Her research shows that the sea level rise in the last 100 years has been between 10cm and 20cm, with a most likely rise of 15cm (6 inches).
Research by the foremost expert on sea level (Dr Nils-Axel Mörner)
Shows that by 2100 we can expect the sea level to change by between 0cm and +20cm. Most likely being 10cm (4") (Hardly scary)

@greenman3610 Do you still not get it? The Sun melted the Arctic sea ice, nothing whatsoever to do with humans.
david222444 3 months ago
@david222444 The sun wouldn't melt anything if we didn't have an atmosphere. An atmosphere rich in CO2 will have a much larger greenhouse effect allowing the sun to heat the planet up a lot more. This is why Mercury, the closest plant to the sun, has a cooler surface temperature then Venus, the second closest planet. Same reason why the Moon is a lot colder then Earth.
Do you still not get it? CO2 is a greenhouse gas and high concentrations in an atmosphere will greatly increase temperatures.
Kariakas 1 month ago
@Kariakas
Sure about your first satement?
The Moon has no atmosphere, and in daytime there it reaches 107c, quite warm, I think you will agree.
Besetho 4 weeks ago
@david222444 No, do you still not get it. Trust me, you're in no position to be telling people anything about climate change because clearly your understanding of the issue is on-par with that of a 3rd grader.
Sun is our biggest source of heat and energy on the planet. Greenhouse gases like CO2 keep the sun's heat energy on the planet. When we pump more CO2 into the atmosphere by burning fossil-fuels, the planet heats up. That's why the arctic summer ice is melting faster.

If Greenland had melted? No time scale. Let me help.
Data from between 2003 and 2008 shows an average trend of 195 cubic kilometers per year. Total ice on Greenland is 2.85 million cubic kilometers.
This means if this melting trend continues, all of the Greenland ice will melt in 14,5 thousand years.
So, why is the urgency?
judomagyar 6 months ago
@judomagyar
the concern is that the melting is increasing.

1. A summary of this issue--major reasons why sea level is expected to rise due to global warming.
2. Give estimates of how much of a rise in sea level might be expected to occur during the current century.
3. …Which of these estimates do you consider most realistic?
4. What do you think is the best practical strategy for dealing with this problem?

mookixox 1 year ago
@mookixox That's funny (in a darkly ironic way), since it is the 'corporations' who are spending millions on disinfo campaigns convincing people that a tax on carbon emissions is somehow going to 'tax the air we breath'. Wow, looks like it's going to be one hell of a long boat ride to get out to dive the reefs of the Florida keys, and no more Everglades.

You are probably aware about the Rockaway Penisula in Queens, NY and barriers islands on Long Island like Jones Beach and Fire Island. Based on what you believe, by what year will they be completely underwater?
metsfreak4life 1 year ago
@metsfreak4life
don't know what the elevation of those areas are, and there's no telling what mitigation efforts might take place if any.
that said, most mainstream estimates of sea level rise over this century range from about half a meter up to 2 meters ie 6+ feet.

These are the same people once telling you that California is going to fall into the ocean any day now because of the Earthquakes from 25 years ago.
They carried on for about a decade with this doomsday propaganda and what do they say now?
NOTHING.

Educated + informed = PROGRAMMED.
JonDeth 1 year ago
@JonDeth Noone says CO2 is a pollutant, but it has properties that can be bad for us in too high concentrations like now. It's been known since the 19th century by work from, among others, our swedish scientist Svante Arrhenius.
USA has a lot of money, yes. That's a big reason why USA is so much against taking action against climate change. It's not in the best interest of your country or the World however.
USAneedsaChange 1 year ago
@USAneedsaChange we have a Republic but unfortunately, we have an acting democracy which means it's literally a corporate business empowered by the people to act on our behalf. With a small populous, this can work great but with one so massive, it's pure corruption.
These people work purely based on the way the results look on data sheets, not based on the satisfaction of the people.
In America, the biggest producers of methane are the dairy cows kept indoors.
JonDeth 1 year ago
@USAneedsaChange also keep in mind that China is the biggest polluter on the planet but again, America gets blamed for being their biggest customer. Keep in mind this mindset about the atmosphere is one handed out by the United Nations. We indeed have a 1 world government and nobody seems to understand this.
Based on the findings of a lot of credible people, the rise in CO2 has been static for centuries, there has been no sudden massive increase. They want more power over us, that's all.
JonDeth 1 year ago
@JonDeth don't understand where you get your "facts" from... The concentrations of CO2 are the highest they've been in a loooong time.
China has recently passed you, but you're still a big pollutant and very important. You're the biggest western country. The UN is good even though Americans often protest it. No, not a one world governmnet.
The scientists are for the most part very serious and concerned about this issue. I doubt that you question other scientists this much.
USAneedsaChange 1 year ago
@USAneedsaChange the rate at which CO2 has been rising however has not changed. So for example what was accelerating at a rate of 10% 300 years ago before the man made pollutants of today, is still accelerating at the rate of 10% today after the birth of the industrial revolution!
So man didn't come along with technology and suddenly turn that 10% into 40%, they're LYING. The CO2 levels are exactly what they should be based on the natural acceleration of the environment.
They're consistent.
JonDeth 1 year ago
@JonDeth OK, so why do I find this link "UCLA Researcher Finds CO2 at Highest Levels in 15 Million Years"? I just give you the headline because I don't think we can link here. Google it.
USAneedsaChange 1 year ago
@USAneedsaChange When you are constantly adding to the pile on a daily basis, obviously the level will be "An all time record high!" the next day. And the next and the next and the next.
But these are the people that tell you C14 dating is reliable then a scientist at UCLA tests some skin of a dolphin with C14 dating and it tells him that dolphin is 1 million years old.
Point is, they don't know what the levels were 15 million years ago.
The science indeed says they were HIGHER however.....
JonDeth 1 year ago
@JonDeth I don't think you understand science to be honest. "By analyzing the chemistry of bubbles of ancient air trapped in Antarctic ice, scientists have been able to determine the composition of Earth's atmosphere going back as far as 800,000 years, and they have developed a good understanding of how carbon dioxide levels have varied in the atmosphere since that time. But there has been little agreement before this study on how to reconstruct carbon dioxide levels prior to 800,000 years ago."
USAneedsaChange 1 year ago
@USAneedsaChange I do understand it perfectly well and the fact that there is overwhelming evidence showing that this ice isnt STATIC. It retracts and expands, it thaws and refreezes. It literally tumbles and is constantly under change. They will tell you core samples yield this information but what they DON'T like you finding out is how sometimes these core samples claimed to be from ice 10 million years old, contain pieces of garbage like a tin can from the 1940's.
It's been exposed publicly.
JonDeth 1 year ago
this also accounts for the higher oxygen levels and much larger plant and animal life.
JonDeth 1 year ago
@JonDeth So we have not learned of dinosaurs?? well, I have... First you said that there were higher CO2-levels, then higher O-levels(oxygen)... The reason they grew so big was likely not because of higer O-levels. Probably had more to do with the available food and the climate(warm and stable climate can give great development like in our rainforests)
USAneedsaChange 1 year ago
That's right kids, rocks are primarily made of silica and carbon. So when a rock is on fire, as it is in a volcano, carbon in it's most concentrated form is being burned and released into the atmosphere. This is what makes are CO2 production negligible. We're being lied to because these people view US as a source of THEIR fuel, FINANCE.
A public riddled with guilt and worry does what it's told.
You have the right to say no and fend them off but how often do you do it?
Me, always, you, never!

USAneedsaChange 1 year ago
This video is rich. Greenman3610 admits that we don't know what caused the "rapid dynamical change in ice flow" 14K years ago. It may or may not have anything to do with global warming. If it happens in the near future and we see the sea levels rise by 20 feet, it may or may not have anything to do with global warming. The attempt to link it to CO2 production is nothing short of fear mongering. That's about what I expect from Global Warming Hystericists.
PissedFechtmeister 1 year ago
@PissedFechtmeister Fear mongering based on the best science... there's a difference in saying what can happen and what will happen... Apparently you think we should ignore the scientists from all over the World... Apparently you are willing to risk the future of this planet because you don't want to pay more for gasoline or w/e. OK...

relocations of modern communities to the higher grounds will be highly recommended before these catasthropies will take place as the global climate change and the sea levels rise.

i believe many ancient cities became submerged in the ocean because of continious rise in sea levels.

so if I suggested continental drift was wrong and the environmental events that caused the dividing of the land mass were no longer applicable to what is occurring, I'd like to hear what you have to say even though I know you would snub me and have a snide response.
But continental drift can't be proven, it can't even be measured accurately.
So what is the alternative?
Erosion, an absolute fact that can be accurately measured.
The continents aren't drifting apart, they're merely losing mass.

JonDeth 1 year ago
@JonDeth that's not true. We produce more CO2 than volcanoes do. Those were not 30,000 unbiased scientists. We hardly even know who those 30,000 signatories were. About 30 claimed to be climate scientists I believe of those 30,000. Perhaps you noticed that they didn't go through with their BS "lawsuit"? Because there never was one! It was fake just like that paper they used to get signatures... There are thousands of scientists and teachers all over the world who supports GW.
USAneedsaChange 1 year ago
@USAneedsaChange it is true and Al Gore has pretty much become a whipping boy since so many elected representatives working in government started challenging him and commissioning further investigations. It's an absolute fact that nature produces majority of the CO2 in our atmosphere
This nation has always had unmeasurable populations of grazing cattle releasing methane. With so many of our bovines living in indoors, we could easily scrub the air clean of the methane they produce
You're naive
JonDeth 1 year ago
@JonDeth nature now? You wrote that volcanoes produce the majority of the CO2 "into" the atmosphere which is not true. All of nature produce more CO2 than us humans though. But nature also takes up almost all of that CO2 itself, it is accounted for, it's in balance. We, however throw this balance off course by our activities.
I have not seen a way to "scrub the air clean of the methane", but if possible, that's great. Make it happen! Time is of the essence here.
USAneedsaChange 1 year ago
@USAneedsaChange you really aren't anywhere near as intelligent as you are asserting by challenging me. In a closed air environment, the methane can be burned off through a filtration system and the emissions collected for proper disposal. These systems already exist. It's literally just a matter of cycling the air through a low temp burner.
You don't seem to grasp the fact that these people are LIARS.
They lie about everything. You think we have a Democracy? NO, we have a republic.
JonDeth 1 year ago
@JonDeth I have not known of that process, but it's good news. However, cows are often let outside for a better quality of life, at least in my country(Sweden), which is good. Also the sh*t they produce inside is often stored in pretty huge heaps outside I think for obvious reasons. And it's the farmers who decide over this, not the scientists.
Scientists don't lie very often. You have a republic, I live in a democracy :-) See? USA needs a Change ;-P
USAneedsaChange 1 year ago
@USAneedsaChange further more, it's in their best interest to lie. They create more corporate democratic statutes and trick us into giving up more of our freedom and money. Countless geologists and vulcanologist will challenge all the environmentalist scientists to no end.
One bellow from a volcano produces more CO2 than the entire human population can create in a YEAR.
But you believe what you like. Cow farts and burnt fuels produce more waste than BURNING carbon rock and soil. wtf.........
