Pasquale Amato always have been my favourite baritone. The most amazing - in my opinion - is his somewhere nervous timbre. A great personality, musician and a marvolous interpreter.
Yes, kspm01, I have a newfound respect for the Exhibition, particularly on a narrow Taper-Tube of the VV-VI and VV-IV it's a perfect match I think, with pre-1920 records. Regards, J.
Holland.., Usually I prefer and HMV No.4 for everyday listening. I had a nice re-built VTMCo. No.2 on the VV-50 and I switched it over to the VV-VIa when I brought it over my firned's house for the vids. The Exhib does do a better job on the early records, I agree. Regards, J.
Because the soundbox disigne for very VERY old records. Some Exhibition are on a Horn gramophone. But a Hmv No.4 does to a good job! And for records of the date 1928 or futher, could you use a Hmv no.5A.

This soundbox is perfect for those old records indeed, volume and tone is wonderful, quite impressive for a 1912 issue.
