I like your comments, but you are missing how hardware support works for consoles. They have always been behind with graphics. The PS3 was behind with its graphics card before it even came out, same with 360. The best that Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony can do is take the older technology that is proven to work for their individual budget.

Wii (2) doesn't need to be in the "hardcore" market. Yes, as a gamer I agree, I would like them to but they are a business and want sales. Nintendo doesn't need to worry with a niche market of gamers (hardcore) when they can grab the audience that Microsoft and Sony have abandoned.

My take: You have to remember there are different audiences. Currently with the wii its obvious that they are appealing to the casual market, which has worked well for them. If Nintendo can produce a good enough upgrade to the PS3 and xbox360, then they will be able to appeal to a hardcore audience for those 2 years or so before the release of the 'NextNext-generation' consoles. Nintendo will lose some hardcore audience, but then they can simply appeal to the casual market again.
To be honest I think that when you compare the wiis graphics to the progect cafes graphics i dont think we should say that it is bad for them to use a suposovly old graphics chip, I mean how long pcs use chips since they are made is much longer than three years. The power is what matters, and if the wii THE WII two is going to have better graphics performance than the 360 and ps3 combined why would you say that isnt good enough! Newer hardware (specifically in terms of GPU tech) hasn't changed since '08 at all like it did from '05 to '08. You're a PC gamer you know the massive jump in speed we had to GPUs. Anything faster wouldn't have many benefits and would easily drive the cost of a console up $100.That said there are some notable points, no doubt that MS will attempt to upstage them.Oh and BTW, I just subbed, you make better points than most would.

And Wii 2 is a smart move by Nintendo. A console like the regular Wii can have a lifespan as long as PS2. Casual developers would keep dumping their trash onto the Wii while Wii 2 can have all the hardcore games. After all there is no reason to dump casual crap on a hardcore console which would only cause higher development costs instead of pulling it on the Wii where there already is a big casual community while they still gain money out of Wii 2 owners with Wii 2's backwards compatibility.
Sony's PS3 along with their Massive-Damage-599US-Dollarz-complex was even more embarassing. Their sales were pityful and now they have to copy the Wii in order to stay in the market. I own an Xbox 360 and a Wii i find the Wii incredibly childish and where i can see that its reaches its target audience which are familys who all play together, it is not for the serious gamer. Nintendo is the Apple of Gaming, it's user base could care less what's in it. They just want a compelling console, if using a graphics card from 2008 is all Nintendo needs to create the user experience they want to at an affordable price for the next 5-6 years, that's what they are going to do. They will of cause have something which makes it stand out and capture the audience for this generation of consoles. I like your comments, but you are missing how hardware support works for consoles. They have always been behind with graphics. The PS3 was behind with its graphics card before it even came out, same with 360. The best that Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony can do is take the older technology that is proven to work for their individual budget.

My take: You have to remember there are different audiences. Currently with the wii its obvious that they are appealing to the casual market, which has worked well for them. If Nintendo can produce a good enough upgrade to the PS3 and xbox360, then they will be able to appeal to a hardcore audience for those 2 years or so before the release of the 'NextNext-generation' consoles. Nintendo will lose some hardcore audience, but then they can simply appeal to the casual market again.

Newer hardware (specifically in terms of GPU tech) hasn't changed since '08 at all like it did from '05 to '08. You're a PC gamer you know the massive jump in speed we had to GPUs. Anything faster wouldn't have many benefits and would easily drive the cost of a console up $100.That said there are some notable points, no doubt that MS will attempt to upstage them.Oh and BTW, I just subbed, you make better points than most would.

And Wii 2 is a smart move by Nintendo. A console like the regular Wii can have a lifespan as long as PS2. Casual developers would keep dumping their trash onto the Wii while Wii 2 can have all the hardcore games. After all there is no reason to dump casual crap on a hardcore console which would only cause higher development costs instead of pulling it on the Wii where there already is a big casual community while they still gain money out of Wii 2 owners with Wii 2's backwards compatibility.

I have to admit i have had fun with the Wii sports but xbox wins it for me, the Wii 2 is going to have to dramatically raise its game especially as its main auidience who are familes and children who play together has been stolen by kintect. As far as the PS3 and XBOX are concerned i find them both equal

About graphics, i don't care, but i know Nintendo, and the Nintendo 3DS is more powerful than the PSP (and a little more than the Wii), and if i'm correct, they will release a most powerful console.
But does it really matters? I mean look at us. How can we call ourself gamers if we are looking more deeper about how powerful will it be than what games are going to be.
Think about this, what is more important, the power or the games?

If I were you i would not be too quick to judge the new Nintendo Console until you find out more information and actually play it. It would would be nice to have better graphics but is is all about the games and how they play.

Nintendo is the Apple of Gaming, it's user base could care less what's in it. They just want a compelling console, if using a graphics card from 2008 is all Nintendo needs to create the user experience they want to at an affordable price for the next 5-6 years, that's what they are going to do. Everyone always doubts Nintendo an Apple's products because they don't see their vision, ex: the Wii & the iPad, but then it ends up the best selling and most compelling product in the market.

For a Nintendo console it is standard for them to upgrade their graphics later than other consoles, and the main reason for this is to ensure that the price is not to high for it's time period. They will of cause have something which makes it stand out and capture the audience for this generation of consoles. What is the point of putting so much technology into a console, if it is so expensive nobody will buy it? Anyway Nintendo has the head start as Microsoft/Sony do not have plans until 2014.
