Lidia's family is Croatian of Italian descent like many people who live(d) in Istria. Istria was once part of the Venetian Empire and was also part of Italy from 1919-1947.

Lidia is from Croatia and is not Italian. She was born in Pula "Pola" which is in Istria. Why doesn;t she make some Serbian food? "Matticchio" is a manufactured name.

Istria nor Pola or Pula is not on the mainland of Italy.
