Some of the reasons this happens is becuase the battery is dead

or when u download somethin and it says dont turn off the ps3 and u turn it off

you should try safe mode and restore default settings

to do that press the on/off button to turn it on and keep your finger on it

you will hear a beep another beep and then it will turn off

do that again and you will hear the initial beeb and then a double beep

then check your tv

if restoring default settings doesnt fix it try the rest of the options

Ok, I think I got a solution to your problem. My version of software is 2.6... try system update, otherwise, go to Account> system settings, it may have to do with your PSN because psn holds some main controls. If both of those dont work, I got ONE more solution, the next time you go on you PS3, hold down the power button till you hear the fourth beep, you should be in a secret menu where all the controls are, after that, click restore PS3 system. If you dont wanna lose your game data use a usb.

that ps3 is an old model back in the 2006 launch

if you have a orginal 20 (2nd best) ,40 or, 60 (best ps3 model)GB ps3 it is likey to get this problem

the 80gb and later models don't get this to often because of the newer NM processor

so the ps3 runs cooler

i sold two and currently have a 20gb and a 80gb

my 20gb gets hot after it been for a hour or so while my 80gb can be on for over an hour and not generate as much as heat as the 20gb

the Xbox just needs to get turned on the bottom, and get a clap on the Left Case side.

for to fix the YLOD, you need to strip it down to the Board, heat the board at the heatsink spots, and stick it back together, but be carefull at heating it.

This Happened To Me Aswell Whilst Playing Modern Warfare 2 The Game Froze For A Second And Then My PS3 Turned Itself Off And Then Would Not Reboot. To Make It Worse I Can't Eject The Disk Becasue When I Pushed The Eject Button To Get The Disk Out It Turned Off So The PS3 Thought It Had Ejected The Disk.
