Many hadith are simply recordings of specific sayings, what about the context. For example, it was common of the Jews of that time to curse the Muslims as they walked by. So its likely that Muhammad said this in response to that, because such aggressive behavior isn't consistent with the MAJORITY of other hadith.

The amount of Jizya is much less than the Zakat, which is levied on Muslims only. So in fact non-Muslims paying Jizya tax in an Islamic state is actually showing great mercy to them. I can't agree largely with the whole respecting other religions part, The Quran states Christianity and Judaism are bastardised and corrupted. What evidence is there to claim Islams scriptures aren't twisted aswell? There is always blind faith.
While it's true under the Caliphates many poeple of different religious backgrounds coexisted they paid additional taxes for not being muslims. Other conditions like military service could be imposed on them aswell. It wasn't perfect.

Please cite this hadith - either its unreliable, you're misquoting it, or you're LYING. Because, quite frankly, you're WRONG. For Muslims, the greeting to nonmuslims is a brief SALAM. To Muslims its Assalamu Alaikum - an Islamic greeting thats tied to religion so its not for non-Muslims.
And the Prophet had Jewish neighbors who he cared for greatly, even the woman who threw trash on him.

It is a hadith. And this is a perfect example why people like jihadwatch and spencer shouldn't be interpreting hadith and such. There is a thing called context. Many hadith are simply recordings of specific sayings, what about the context. For example, it was common of the Jews of that time to curse the Muslims as they walked by. So its likely that Muhammad said this in response to that, because such aggressive behavior isn't consistent with the MAJORITY of other hadith.

He shared alleyways with Jews and Christians, thats why that hadith isn't applied to all Jews and Christians. Your lying about Jizya. The Jizya is a tax levied on non-Muslims in lieu of military service which is compulsory for Muslims but not for non-Muslims. The amount of Jizya is much less than the Zakat, which is levied on Muslims only. So in fact non-Muslims paying Jizya tax in an Islamic state is actually showing great mercy to them. The Muslims Zakah tax is higher then the Jizya and calling the non-Muslim tax Jizya not Zakah respects their non-Islamic religious beliefs.

What is the rate of Jizya quote any source for your lies if your claiming the Jizya tax was allegedly unfair. Also the non-Muslims paying Jizya in an Islamic State are extempted from any military service and the military of the Islamic State has to come to the defence of it's non-Muslim citizens if they are attacked by outsiders. The treatment of non-Muslims in Moorish Spain was not 'very good', but we can say that at least they were given basic rights. They were not accorded the same rights as Muslims by a long shot and after 1055 with a more fundamentalist leadership, that is particularly true.

'Radical Islam' is a misnomer, there is nothing radical about believing in Islam as a comprehensive ideology, since Islam IS a Comprehensive ideology, that defines political, social and economic solutions for mankind. Western Media would label me as 'Radical'.

well ppl i think the you should understand more about the geological defferinces such as china, it is huge and has alot of ppl so they found that communisam is thier best choice.... so maybe we the west have to understand the middle east the holyiest of holy places i mean i wish i could end the bickering but alas i am canadian we are forever stuck "sitting on the fence" when it come to these such issues hence the freedom of religion we have here

Of course ) I don't believe in chopping off peoples' heads, including apostates, because I believe in freedom of religion. My Islam teaches individuality and self-respect. Yours preaches hatred and coercion to a Shari'a dictatorship. No to Talibanization!
