You can buy this game for $5 from 3drealms. I wish Mountain King (the descendent of Cygnus) would make another one like this. Their Demonstar is pretty good, but I like this game more because of the rpg elements and also the plane moves faster in this. Think of all the fun new upgrades you can put in the new game.

mmmh... in that waves... its a little weak the laser turret... you need like 3 or 4 hits for enemy (other 2) and not hit always the same enemy... your secondary is good too....
in outer regions... all you need is twin laser... all other weapons are nearly useless... i use twin and deathray.. switching fast you will fire 3 lasers :D..
outer regions final wave... if you neglect... you can lose your 5 shield before the final boss... but outer regions still rock!!
Raptor was awesome, and imo its still fun to play. Though technically out of date everything fits: gameplay, style/graphics, weapons and even the old midi music.

This game is not that hard. I'm trying to run thru the game without buying any lives or shields or using bombs which makes the game soo much harder. This also allows u to buy weapons easier.
I'd really like to see somebody who can do the final wave of Outer Regions on Rookie difficulty without losing any shields. Even after so many years, I still need at least three Phase Shields just to do that level.
but why did they have to destroy the ancient temple?

The shareware version of this game came with the first PC that my family ever had, and I remember dreaming of owning the full version as a kid! :)

First computer game I recall playing in my life when I was about 4 years old.
It was love at first sight.
The entire Wave One of Bravo Sector is amongst my earliest memories.
I cannot overstate how much I love this game.

So beautiful! Especially that boss with its aggresive laser bursts! For some reason that 2 second cutscene at the end was so damn epic to me!

Do you still have that game? It is possible to have the soundtrack of the final wave?
Just put your midi sound to max and turn off your wav sound. Make a video of the level and I'll be able to record the sound. Thanks!

This game is not that hard. I'm trying to run thru the game without buying any lives or shields or using bombs which makes the game soo much harder. This also allows u to buy weapons easier.

Megabombs, perhaps, but on harder difficulty and/or The Outer Sectors, I don't see how you can survive without some phase shields.
