No matter what the outcome of succeeding to rehabilitate these convicts, there are more chances of recidivism than managing the public on their own. After a convict served a 25-40 years sentence and quailifies for parole and upon release, you think that fucker would already know know what's goin' on in the world? Or, is he institutionalized? Two reasons they go back in prison 1: Everyone they knew is gone and 2: Don't want to live under a bridge in Downtown Houston. Their boyfriends is life.

Have any of you worked in a prison? Everything in life is a process as well as in prison. These murders, rapist, child molesters, thieves, con artists aren't as human as they claim. They act as animals in prison then act innocent in the outside world. Imates cry over things they never cried about before. Most inmates never even had medical in the free world, but they get in in prison. Most inmates didnt have clean clothes and 3 meals a day, but they get it in prison..

I'm not suggesting they be mistreated. They're humans too. Most of these are serving less than 5 year sentences and are low security, then get released. Medical care should be adequate to meet their needs, no doubt. this is the USA not North Korea or Somalia. Anyone could themselves or have a relative get convicted of a crime of negligence, conspiracy, or miprison of a felony, then have to serve time even though you never meant to DO anything. Then they care if the conditions are humane.

People who break the law should have what's LEGALLY coming to them, whether its probation, 6 months. 10 years, 40 years, life or death penalty. As long as the punishment fits the crime and is legal. Mistreatment of inmates is not part of that.
